You will need to have a dhcp server to hand out dynamic ip addresses. You're ISP if this is a home pc hands out dynamic ip addresses so you won't have to configure anything. Is this a home networked pc or a work pc.

Set your computer to use DHCP to acquire an IP address from your ISP.

I don't think you configure your IP address. If I am wrong, I would appreciate a message.

So far as I know, your address is what it is -- go to www.whatismyip.com and you will be given your IP.
