I was given two bottles of wine one red one white, and i do'nt have a seller or basement.
Is there any place else in the house that i can store these bottles of wine i would like to keep them until Christmas. I am in Australia.
Thanks and kind regards.

Kep them in a dark cool spot away from temp fluctuations and make sure they are kept on there side(lying down) so the wine touches the cork so the cork doesn't dry out. They should be okay Xmas isn't that far off.

Keep them both in your fridge and keep the bottles on their sides so the corks do not dry out. When you are ready to serve the red wine take it out in advance so it can warm up to near room temperature (or about 60 degrees F). Maybe an hour in advance will do depending on the ambient temperature. I am however a wine aficionado and not a wine expert so if you were given very expensive vintages, I would consult your local wine expert for advice specific to the wine you were given.

Also, depending on what kind of red wine you have, you may want to let it "breathe" a bit before drinking. A decanter would work best but so would pouring it out into your wine glasses and letting the wine aerate. But honestly I'm sure you will enjoy your wine just as well without this step. So just do what you're comfortable with and enjoy.

Hi,

Ideally put the bottles somewhere cool and dark, say under the stairs or in a closet.

It's your summer and if you don't have aircon and you are in a really hot place in the outback you could stick the wines in your fridge. Not ideal, but they'll be fine for the 10 weeks until Christmas.

Wine is a lot tougher than many people think, they'll be alright even if your house gets warm.

You don't need to lay them on their sides, it can take more than 5 years for corks to dry out. Just don't worry and enjoy your wines.

you can keep them in the refridgerator without damage to the wine over a 10 weeks period, depending on the acidity of the wine it might cause "Detartration" which means some of the acids will form smal hard crystals in the bottom of the bottles, (often called Wine Diamonds or Bottle diamonds) this will not affect the quality of the wine except the last bit of the bottle will be grainy

Wrap them in newspaper, lay them in a cardboard, plastic or wooden box, find the coolest, driest, draught free area in, or under the house, and leave them there until Christmas. Don't put them in the fridge because you will inevitably be moving them around, wine does not like being moved about!.

wrap them in cellophane (to ward of dust and insects), turn them on their belly, label side up, and put them on the bottomshelf of a closet.
