I would think leaving oil in your hair overnight would be a bit too much. Apply it during the day, put a cap on and let it sit for about an hour. Too much oil is not good for the hair and scalp. Get a cut every 6-8 weeks to get rid of the damaged hair, and that should help too!

How about just get the damaged hair cut off. Get extensions if you have to while your hair grows. I wouldn't try to salvage any hair that's damaged because hair is dead and it can't repair itself.
After you get your dry, damaged hair cut use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on your hair and after it's washed use a leave in conditioner. You don't have to buy the expensive stuff either, just make sure its something that you like. Experiment with all kinds of products. Really, cut it. Your hair will grown in no time and you'll love the way it comes back in.

oil your hair about 2 - 3 hours before bed time, that way your pillows will not be ruined... hey, a shower cap dosent sound bad either......I am not sure where my friend got it, but some stores sell a head wrap made of cloth.. that is an excellent alternative to a plastic shower cap ... good luck

You don't. Be prepared to wash your pillow case. It's a very good idea to leave your conditioner on overnight...wear a plastic shower cap over it if it doesn't bother your sleeping. Good Luck!

Put a towel between an old pillow case that you don't care about and the pillow. Just put towels every where your head touches the bed.

Good question.Don't use the oil.It is an old myth and it doesn't really work.If you still want to try it then get a pillow case and wash it every night. Its the only thing I can think of.

you could lay a towel over your pillow. might be easier to sleep than with a shower cap on.
