I still record and play VHS. I do have a DVD recorder also. The picture is fine with DVD, but VHS is far more reliable and will play in ANY VHS VCR. I can't say that about DVD as far as recorded DVDs are concerned. They are very picky about DVD players when it comes to playback. Regardless, I don't think that VHS is going away anytime soon.

Sure, I have an old one (perhaps
the second generation VHS with
a digital LED display from about
1983), and a new one with DVD
player riding along shotgun.

I believe the VHS is headed down
the same path as the phonograph
record. Gradually loosing popularity
to newer formats, but will not go away
due to the many whom have many VHS
tapes and are not willing to trade them in.

Got a VHS player in a box somewhere.

DVDs/CDs are much smaller than VHS tapes but VHS tapes they are more reliable. One smal scratch or spec of dust and the DVDs is stuffed.. who invented such a dumb technology. Memory sticks are the best.

I love my VHS. The tapes arent as fragile as DVDs. My kids have ruined at least 5 dvds in the past month, and until they make indestructable dvds I am sticking with my VHS for all of their movies.

We still have several VHS players. My kids have over 100 movies on VHS. And until they wear out, I am not replacing them. Too expensive.

Haha.. I remember BETA, too!

We do. We have shelves full of videos of one description and another, what's the point in ditching them while they are still ok to play. We also have a dvd but not as many discs for it...some are still a bit pricey so we are only buying when they are on offer....
