I am running a marathon for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Jan. (my website plug by the way http://www.active.com/donate/tntcfl/tntcflHHoog ) and still have not reached my fundraising goal. I am in need of some fundraiseing ideas and any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks

You know, I've often found that big organizations such as Airlines, Hotels, Sports Gear firms such as Reebok and so on like to do their bit towards such causes - a mixture of altruism and great publicity:) So, perhaps you could write in to a list of them, suggesting that they hold some sort of contest authored by themselves and the prize could be a) A free plane ticket or b) A free weekend stay or c) Free T Shirts, shoes and tickets to a big game.
This comes accompanied with LOADS of publicity thanking them in the newspapers and so on and so forth. In order to hold this contest (and be rewarded with the extensive publicity, which is their "compassionate concern and willingness to give back to society"), each of these organisations must fund your project as far as they can go. Good?:)

Write letters to the various charitable organizations in your area asking for assistance in doing a cookout as a fundraiser, ie the Lyons Club, Moose, etc.

Good luck!! I am in the same boat. I am raising for breast cancer awareness. Tried asking friends and coworkers and got very little response. I guess we just have to stay persistent. I've heard that your counselors have many good fund-raising ideas , have you asked them? If you want shoot me an im and we can chat and maybe brainstorm

You can design some greeting cards for cancer and sell them.
Use titles like "I donated to the cause to cure cancer in ______'s name." A printing company might even donate their printing for the cause. It doesn't hurt to try.
