Does it suit christians and religious types - to have you believe in fairies, trolls, indian dream catcher crap, ghosts, massage with a silly pointy hat on all that other stuff?

Is it's intent -ultimately too dispell your disbelief and too make the bible and religion seem more credible?

The heaven and Earth show with Philliap Forrester (and most religious programming) is full of this sort of stuff.

The amount of ghost stories (afterlife stuff) coming from Hollywood is absurd, together with full on biblical movies such as constantiene, and the devils advocate...

Who is pushing this stuff, and why should we pay to be essentially moralised at?

About paying and choice - ....If it said beware, this film contains a massive christian moral, lifted striaght from the bible - side effects includee you being brainwashed and feeling like you have been in church for eight months then I would have a choice..I don't have a choice until it's too late..

Films should come with warnings.

To the chaps who say, What has faires, trolls, massage with pointy hat on - got to do with christians...
this is the point of my original question. religious programs are full of this fantasy stuff, the purpose of which I believe - is too "dispell our disbelief"as the chaps in hollywood put it. ..if they can do it often enough...we will believe in anything, and ultimately christianity..

ps)Why do people feel the need to preach?

I'm a science fiction fan and I get so pissed when I go to a book store and find "fantasy" books jamming the shelves as if they were science fiction. They should be shelved with the "religious" and "spiritual" books where they can be properly ignored. If it smacks of ghosts, goblins, witches, or gods, it ain't coming into my house. Same goes for movies.

The premise of this question is faulty, as all the fairies, ghosts and "afterlife message" stuff has nothing at all to do with Biblical Christianity. Nor does the media! Remember that mass media are in the business of making money, which means taking it from viewers /listeners via advertising, admissions etc.
Learn to think for yourself, and don't pay to see something you obviously dislike. Otherwise you're no better than the sheeplike people who follow the current trends, which you purport to despise. It's your money, it's your choice.
Learn a little more about Christianity and the Bible before you make unfounded statements like the ones in this "question."

Hold on with the Indian dream catcher thing, that's a bit of a low blow on that one, But for everything else it depends. Fantasy is fantasy, most people just have fun fantasizing things like this for entertainment, knowing it's not real. mostly, because in the past people did think they were real.

Some people's aim is to drive you away from religion, others towards with fantasy and realism. Different people have different agendas so it's hard to say who's going where with what.

Hollywood just plays on the entertainment of fantasy, although there many times a hidden agenda is present. But, different people and organizations are always trying to pull us back and forth. makes my head spin actually.

I don't think Hollywood has a bit of interest in anyone's religious agenda. Their agenda is to make money, and they produce what will likely bring in the most. If something has a "moral", it's aimed at people who already know and appreciate said moral.

Who's forcing you to pay money to see movies anyway?

ETA: So being exposed to ideas different from yours for two hours brainwashes you for eight months? I know some excellent exercises for strengthening of the will, if you're interested...

they are able to't; because of the indisputable fact that's a scientific fact they are able to the two settle for or reject it. as an occasion, no one is going around saying they suspect or disbelieve in gravity. Edit: indoors fort: "Survival of the fittest" isn't the final way think of approximately evolution. Darwin himself did no longer use the word interior the 1st version of beginning of Species. What Darwin suggested is that heritable adjustments convey approximately differential reproductive fulfillment. that isn't around or tautologous. that's a prediction which would be, and has been, experimentally shown.

I'm an atheist. I watch the movies you mention because they are entertaining and nothing more. I guess I see them as entertainment and don't take any of it home at night.

I put it all in the same hat. Fairies and apostles are the same thing to me. Both are fake. Both lack any personal meaning.

As far as who is pushing this crap, it's Hollywood. America is incredibly Christian. Period.

Maybe the films out of Hollywood are just stories that have public appeal and therefore make money. You can watch them or not...your choice, same as TV shows. No one is forcing you to watch, and i dont think anyone is trying to 'moralise' you. How do you know these film makers are any religion????

You can pay for whatever you want. I don't understand what all those things you mention have to do with Christianity. I think you are confusing it with folklore which is something quite different.

The message of Christianity is simple:-
1) We are supposed to love God above everything.
2) We are supposed to love and care for other people as much as we want to be loved and cared for.
3) Every one of us makes a mess of things. We do the bad things we don't want to do, and don't do the good things we want to do.
4) Jesus allows us to start again by wiping the slate clean through Baptism in Water
5) Baptism in The Holy Spirit creates changes in us, giving us power, freeing us from the compulsion to do wrong things, and increases our capacity for love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, patience, gentleness and self-control
6) The rule of our lives becomes love all, forgive all, show mercy, judge no-one
7) Even as Christians we do not always do the right thing, but, if we turn our backs on those things, Jesus wipes the slate clean for us again
8) As long as we are loyal to God, an amazing Eternity is waiting for us. If we are not loyal to God, well, He does not want people He cannot trust making a mess of His new creation like they did this one, does He?

i will not believe in anything.. but i choose what i wamt to believe.. for instance, i like the idea of faries.. so, when i have a good day, i'll make believe that my personal faries are helping me out.. so that when i have a bad day, i think that mayb, just mayb the faries are busy helping out others.. so, i do my best to take care of my situation.. it also makes me happy that some else is receiving help.. and as far as ghosts are concerned, i believe only for a fraction of a second particularly when i'm watching ghost movies or stories.. it allows me to feel the situation.. and that's about it...

I think the problem is not with what they are pushing. The problem is that many people in society do not think critically or independantly.

It's just easy to sell candy to children. But don't forget, it's people with brains that actually make decisions in the world.
