what if we just checked all the cargo going in and out of north korea and stop only nuclear stuff?

sadly no. there's no control on the chinese and russian borders. And trying to stop a ship on the open seas would probably mean starting a shooting war.
BTW, cargo planes. if they refuse to land for inspection. what do you do? shoot them down? Then find out they were loaded with sick kids and used for a provocation? (the North Koreans did such tricks more than once)

Although China has suggested that it too is in favor of limited sanctions on N.Korea, I find it hard to believe their sincerity. They have already indicated they would not be in favor of searches. This alone would deeply compromise the idea of sanctions.

I too believe that searches are necessary, to have effective sanctions.

The problem is that such an action will harden them. And they will double their nuclear tests. Besides, not all nations will be united in the policy of isolating them. There are ever so many rogue states, who will support them.

I would send all ballistic missile subs to sea, and then call Kim up man to man and tell him "look you midget pissant, we are tired of your crap and if you so much as sneeze the wrong way I will turn your pissant little country into a giant nuclear wste dump."

imagine the manpower requird4such a task.and dont u thnk thtlonly piss them off more.our problem is the fact were not takng any real serious action against them.withn the next5 years we will occupy n.k. with our military.
