I don't want to offend anybody?

Anti-gay religious bigot for example doesn't sound very politically correct either...gee it's tough to find a nice sounding way to describe them.

Reply to sunestaur...:
Your Bible quote cannot be correct because the word "homosexual" is only a recently coined term to describe same-sex relationships, it does not appear in the Bible.

Reply to countrybu...:
But homosexuality is a normal human variation like height or IQ, humans range along a spectrum from mostly heterosexual through bisexual to mostly homosexual and all are within the normal human sexual range.

You are wrong, hate dislike & fear any or all of these are symptoms of homophobia.

'Bigot' sounds pretty accurate to me.

Well, it's tricky, because I guess they'd LIKE to be called something like "The Righteous"...but that's hardly accurate, so it could surely only lead to more confusion that the worth of their egos?

Maybe there's a politically correct alternative that's less inflamatory for them.

Differently-Openminded?
Acceptance-Challenged?
People-With-Restricted-Emotional-Vision?
POV-Blind? (Point-of-View Blind, to give it its full medical definition).

Ah, to hell with it, some things are better understood when addressed in plain language - call a homophobe a homophobe; the issues are more important than sparing their offence. Evidently, religious homophobes'll just stick their fingers in their ears and go "lalalalayou'regonnaburninhell" whenever challenged about their hatred anyway...

1Corinthians 6:9 Don’t you know that evil people will not receive God’s kingdom? Don’t be fooled. Those who commit sexual sins will not receive the kingdom. Neither will those who worship statues of gods or commit adultery. Neither will men who are prostitutes or who commit homosexual acts. 10 Neither will thieves or those who always want more and more. Neither will those who are often drunk or tell lies or cheat. People who live like that will not receive God’s kingdom. 11 Some of you used to do those things. But your sins were washed away. You were made holy. You were made right with God. All of that was done in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Don't stop reading too soon. Verse 11 has a lot to say. Yes, it IS a sin, but it is NOT PERMANENT. It CAN BE FORGIVEN! Those who desire to leave their sin behind them are NOT ALONE.

What if they aren't religious and just hate, fear or dislike homosexuals? Well, they'd also be homophobes too.

I don't hate, fear or dislike homosexuals, I simply despise their sin. I despise your sins too. And mine. And my neighbor? Well he sins every day and I despise his too .... but I sure do like his bar-b-que lol. The point is that we love the sinner and hate the sin. Why is that so hard to understand? Is it because you cannot distinguish between the two? How guilty you must feel all the time then!

I don't know, but I'm a Christian, and I love homosexuals as well.
Just because I think it's a sin, doesn't mean I hate the sinner.

I say after the way they behave and treat the GLBT they deserved to be called exactly what they are even if they don't like it. So Homophobes or Bigot would work just fine if you ask me. If the shoe fits wear it. They tell gay people all the time to change who they are. So tell them if they don't like being called a homophobia then stop being one.

I do not hate, fear, or dislike homosexuals any more than I hate, fear, or dislike liars, murderers, haters, thieves, adulterers, non-Christians, or anyone else.

My issue is with sin. If you want to sin, fine. I can teach you a better way of life, but if you won't hear it, so be it. But don't make me watch you revel in your sin. I don't wanna hear about how you robbed a 7-11. I don't wanna hear about your Neo-Nazi website. I don't wanna hear about how great your two girlfriends are. I don't wanna hear how you disrespected your parents. And I don't wanna hear about how you sleep with someone of your own gender.

I don't wanna hear any of it, unless you are confessing it, and/or are asking me to help you change.

And worst of all... I don't wanna hear you proclaim the lie that any sin is normal and acceptable.

I do not fear, hate or dislike anyone based on their orientation or choices in life. You are free to do whatever you want and I respect you no matter what. I have no right to judge you, and neither do you.

May Allah bless us all.

Fundamentalists?

2006-10-12 01:26:14 · answer #10 · answered by Phoebhart 6 · 1 0

Can I be clear about this. we hate homosexuals for trying to make everyone believe that it is normal to fall in love with someone of the same sex. this of course is a lie. We hate the lie. We do not fear them, I would never wilfully hurt them, but we do not want them to hit on straight kids. So I guess you could call us people who like to be told the truth about homosexuality instead of hiding it under the lie of normalcy.
