It is not healthy to lose that much weight that quickly. Studies show that people who lose weight to quickly tend to gain back the weight and more. You should set your goal at about 2 lbs a week. Good luck.

Any rigorous diet which you were to follow and lose weight very quickly will result in you putting it all back on. The best/healthiest way to lose weight is to lose no more than 2lb a week. Exercise will definately help and if you are very overweight when you start exercising you will probably see the weight come off quicker to start with and then it will be a lot more gradual. There are diets you can follow like the cambridge diet for short term weight loss but you need to live off 3 milkshakes a day packed full of nutrients and no food whatsoever which for most people would be impossible.

Without amputating a leg, probably not!

Most responsible nutritionists would say that you shouldn't aim to lose more than 2 pounds a week (maybe 3 or 4 in the first week as you lose water when you start a diet). I make that more like 20 pounds by Christmas if you start now.

Whatever you do, you've got to make sure that you can stick to it. I'm struggling to lose my baby weight (oh and my chocolate weight if you must know) so I do know how you feel. The thing with crash diets is that even if they work for a bit, when you let it slip (and they're so strict its almost impossible) you put the weight back on really quickly too.

If you were to set yourself a good target - say a stone - for christmas, there's a good chance that you'll make it and you'll feel really great. When I lost my first stone of baby weight it was more than a dress size - I really noticed the difference. If you set yourself too big a target, you'll beat yourself up if you don't make it.

Good luck - if you want to check out a good diet that I've been trying have a look at the GI diet on tesco ediets (tesco.com).

Depends how big/heavy/fat you are now. If you're 30 odd stones, then it should quite easily be possible, however, if you're something like 15 stones, then the simple answer is NO, unless you want to make yourself very sick in the process.

Also, DO NOT PUT yourself on a "rigorous diet" that you or your body will not be able to cope with as it will result in adverse outcome.

Loosing 3 stones is a huge amount of weight, so consult your doctor first and if you don't want to do that get some serious advice from a dietitian.

Be VERY careful, you're about to put your body through a huge change. Make sure you can cope.

Yes it is possible. You have to m ake a decision to cut your intake of carbs and concentrate on good fats (fish oil, etc) and protein. If you do that, excercise every day without fail and cut out every drink but water, then, yes, you could possibly lose that much by Xmas. I lost 65 pounds in 5 and a half months this way. when you lose however much you want to lose, just start adding some more carbs to your diet every day until you aren't losing, but you arent gaining either. You will have found your limit. If you ever need to lose more weight, just go back to the way you were eating when you first start the diet. Hope that helps. Worked like a charm for me! :)

Rigorous being the operative word...you'd have to practically starve yourself, which wouldn't go well with spending a LOT of time doing strenuous exercise. If you have nothing else to do (such as a job, family etc,) you MIGHT lose about a stone or so, but after you return to your real, daily life you'd gain it all back...with interest.
This is NOT a healthy, or realistic, idea. Work on self-acceptance. Yes, be healthy, change your diet and get more exercise, but don't expect to wake up a supermodel. Accept who you are...that's the best Christmas gift you can give yourself.

yes this is probably possible but it would be ridiculous for your body to lose this drastic amount in such a short period. I am also on a diet, I think the steadier you lose weight the better it is for you, not just physically but mentally too. Also I think the quicker you lose the weight the more likely you are to put it back on, you have got to get used to a calorie controlled diet or something if you need any help i am here to talk to. my email address is:emmat19@fsmail.net hope this helps.

It is possible. I have a friend in Australia who lost 40 pounds or 2.9 stones in 43 days. I have lost 35 pounds or 2.5 stones in 89 days. We are both using Stack Body Tune Up. He has been on the Advanced Plan and I have been on the Maintenance Plan.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

That would mean losing 4.2 pounds a week approx so its a little bit unrealistic, maybe try for two instead if you're determined and have a fair amount of weight to lose, it should be possible.

It depends on your current weight. In general, yes, you can lose that much weight in 2 1/2 months.
