I don't understand the "Christian Apologetics". This is new to me.
I am a Christian, a believer in Jesus.

If you have knowledge or an inkling as to why they chose to call themselves "Apologetics"?

Feel free to type it in. Thanks

Apologia; Greek for defense against an attack. (Though a good apologist wouldn't really see it that way. Also, nearly every religion has them to some extent, whether under that title or not.)

Apologetics is defined as acknowledging a failure or justification of something. There are grey areas in the Bible that many people cling to as an excuse to not believe. If we can acknowledge them or justify them in some way, we may help them to get to the truth that is very evident in spite of the holes.

There are a ton of horrible sites on the web that claim to be apologetics sites. Be careful. You can't answer a question about the Bible with non-connected, non-related other material from the Bible.

Apologetics is the practice of defending the Christian faith against those who raise objections to its validity. We are commanded to be apologists (those who defend the faith) in 1 Pet. 3:15 - ". . . always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you. . . "

An apologist is "A person who argues in defense or justification of something, such as a doctrine, policy, or institution", so apologetics is what you do if you're an apologist. I think.
