I have a Sony cybershot DSCP-200 7.2 mp digital camera. If I want to take photos of moving objects, do I need to increase the shutter speed ? If so, how to do that ?? Could anyone help me ??

You're correct.
The P200 doesn't seem to have shutter-priority mode, where you can dial in the exact shutter speed you want, but it DOES have a setting 'High Speed Shutter'. Use that.
You could also go old school and set the camera to Manual, but then you'd have to dial in both the shutter speed and the aperture for a correct exposure. That's generally more trouble than it's worth.
For subjects that move across your frame, like speeding cars, another trick is to pan with them while the shutter is open. (Start tracking them, then click the shot while continuing to pan.) This helps to freeze the action and it gives the background some nice motion blur.

choose the 's' mode in your camera and set a high shutter speed by pressing the directional buttons. make sure theres enough of light or else the image will be dark.
