I don't hate anybody and I don't try to change laws to prevent Christians from having the same civil rights as me. If you are not a religious homophobe this question is not directed at you.

Phobia means fear. Hardly any homophobes will ever admit to having any fear related to homosexuality, they'll say they have nothing to be afraid of but just find homosexuality disgusting or unnatural or say it's a sin. They're so stuck in the thought that they are somehow better than the homosexuals that they won't even admit to themselves that they fear they might be like them. It's pride. They don't want to hurt their own pride by admitting they're afraid they might be/become like the ones they despise so much.

That goes for both religious and non-religious homophobes.

This is your true reason for being so agitated by the Christians isn't it? You automatically assume that all Christians "hate" homosexuals. We don't. I have said to you before that I wanted to understand your hatred of Christians and I think that I do now. I am really sorry that you have been hurt. This is the consequences of your actions thing that I am talking about. Not everyone is going to believe like you do or think that a lifestyle is more appropriate than another. If you choose to live outside of what society considers the "norm" then you must be strong enough to uphold your convictions and secure enough in your life decisions to ignore what others may or may not think about them. One of my dearest friends was gay and he chose to live his life like he did. He had no regrets, made no apologies and I loved him still. He passed away a couple of months ago, do I know where he is now? My religious teachings tell me that I do, my heart tells me that I hope for something else. I guess I won't really know all the truths until I pass away. One thing that I loved about him so much was that he was man enough to accept all people as they were and did not feel the need to bash them because they did not believe like he did.

Homophobe is a derogatory word that denotes a fear of one who is homosexual. Religious people who do not like homosexuals usually do not fear them they simply are going by the scripture that says homosexuality is an abomination. Of course then they skip right over love the sinner not the sin.

right this is the fault on your argument: "the government has no perfect being in touch in marriage. marriage is a non secular prepare no longer political one." Marriage has continuously been a central authority concern. subsequently you may get a marriage license. it fairly is a privilege given to you via the government. The ceremony is religious, no longer the act. This became achieved initially to administration inhabitants in historical circumstances in the process the midsection a while. Later it became achieved for clinical motives in extra modern-day circumstances. till the 80's you had to get a blood attempt to get married to work out in case you and your companion's blood types might placed a newborn in threat because of the fact of blending useful and adverse blood types. as we talk they have drugs that fix that situation. whilst did Jesus say we could know different religions? i do no longer bear in mind that. it fairly is advisable to income back. final analysis, marriage is thoroughly a central authority concern. the government gadgets the situations that human beings can get married via, merely like utilising standards. you do no longer enable a blind man or woman tension, and there are motives for it. the debate as we talk is over the excuses for marriage. that concept of marriage has no longer replaced religiously, even nonetheless it has replaced socially and that's the conflict interior the government.

They correctly think the word has connotations of stupidity and unreasonableness, and - and this is the blind, beautiful, utterly comic daftness of it all - they think their point of view is utterly reasonable and rational, because after all it's based on the word of God, and everyone knows that God thinks homosexuality is an "abomination". Bless...
It's like when a 5 year old tries to blame their bad behaviour on their invisible friend. "I know it's bad when other children do it, but Kenny told me it was good, so that's alright, isn't it?"
