The president is ready now to overhaul his foreign policy on iraq. The war is costing us troops and cash. He needs a strong exit strategy from Iraq, one that would help us save face but also justify us going in 3 years ago. If you were his personal advisor, what advise would you give the president today? He needs your support.

Here's the solid exit plan put forward by the Libertarian party.

The more likely exit plan will be transplanting the troops in Iraq for another of George's Bogus Adventures (e.g. Iran), but leaving ten or twenty thousand troops in Iraq to rot.

GWB needs the new Iraqi government to declare their intentions of taking over security of their own government, by a certain date. Of coarse, once this happens, the insurgency will kick it into high gear and start killing everyone they can.

This alone makes a case for the belief that the insurgents objective is to keep the US troops bogged down in Iraq. They believe it makes it less likely that the US will have enough resources to take on another skirmish, elsewhere.

On a temporary basis, perhaps this is true, however I believe the Pentagon has contingency plans for just such an event.

Perhaps the US military needs to rely more on air power, drones and the like. It's pretty hard to knock out a drone with IED and roadside bombs. Maybe it's time we changed our strategy instead of the tail wagging the dog. We're starting to look like lemmings over there, that is, if you believe everything the media reports.

My advice to GWB is to replace Rumsfeld with a true warrior. One who will take command, ignore the media and liberals, set a firm objective and go for it!

Tell the new government of Iraq. We are leaving. We have spent over two years training their police and troops to defend the country. that's long enough.
What does it matter? Within 90 days of the U.S. pulling out, Iran will over run and take Iraq.
Our troops are now dieing for nothing. Besides it is impossible to bring democracy to a Muslim country. For democracy to work you must have a separation of church and state. That is not possible in a Muslim country. Since everything is done by Allah's will.

I would send 200,000 more ground troops, encircle whole towns and cities, search for weps, anyone with more than just a single gun in the home, kill them all. Oh hell, just kill all the Sunni and half the shia. Give it to the Kurds as their new homeland.
