If i turn to Islam today and I die today will I go to heaven? I have never read the Quran, prayed to Allah, or kept the rest of the 5 pillars of faith.
This is not for Christians so please don't tell me the Gospel. I already know it.

How will I know that I'm good enough for Allah? What about my sin?

This is a very good question,
if some one accepts Islam with good intention, his sins of the time before will all be deleted,
But if he was a christian or a Josh before accepting Islam, then his previous sins will be converted to good deeds, plus that all his new good deeds will be rewarded double than normal Muslims.

If a person died (not suicide) very soon after accepting Islam, before he is able to perform any of his duties, then he will not be held responsible of not performing any of his duties, and he will go to heaven,

by hook or by crook Islam will go to heaven. for the holy ones that pray ,read AL-QURAN, obey the Islam rules will go to the heaven straight away after the end of the world. for the 50/50 type they have to take the punishment in hell for whatever sins or duty they hav not done. than the will go to heaven. but if u r holding other religion n want 2 convert to Islam u must know how to istigfar. that is a MUST!!!!

if u want to know more . DO PLS go to the mosque.

only the imam or religious teacher can answer better n much more detail.

P.S. my advice dont stick 2 only 1 teacher go for a few. so ur knowledge will spread better

Allah knows best but if you convert to Islam and die - God forbids - right after conversion, then you go to heaven enshaa Allah. It is not like you had a chance to pray or fast and you didn't.

It is all about your heart and your real intention. Many muslims perform rituals just physically and have a lot of heart diseases. Allah is the Most Merciful, Forgiving and Generous. Purify your heart and be sure that Allah will accept you enshaa Allah.

You see I always feel reluctant answering quesions about going to heaven or hell because I am only a human being that is not sure what will become of me when I meet Allah; how can I give a certain word about others?

May Allah have mercy on us all.

okay 2 be Muslim, uve gotta b Muslim from da inside out, not jus belive that if u convert ure immedialtey into Heaven, even us Muslims might not get there, who knows
Like any other religion uve got 2 belive and follow the guide lines e.g five pillars of Islam, uve also got 2 respect urself, others and other religions, and not think that that u have converted into Islam, no other religion has a right into Heaven, they do, well those that have respected and bidded along their religion and followed their religion to the fullest

if you converted to Islam today and die today and you have never read the quran , prayed to Allah or anything in 5 pillars
you shall in sha Allah go to heaven , let me tell why how i know that ?
in one of Muslims Battle , a leader in the enemy`s army went to our leader ( Khalid bin alwaleyd) and asked him to answer his question honestly then asked him the question you just had asked so Khalid said yes ,you shall be forgiven and go to heaven if you truly converted with all your heart to Islam and this leader converted to Islam and fought to Muslims side and dead in this battle
about your sins , Islam remove what is done before it ,it means that you shall not be judged for any kind of sins you did before Islam no matter what you did ?
Khalid bin AL waled , amr bin alasas and Omar bin AL khtab and many others were before Islam fighting Muslims and torturing them but they converted to Islam later and became one of best of prophet companions
there are so many ahadith that confirm that anyone repent and believe in Allah ,shall be forgiven as there is no conditions for being accepted by Allah even your faith

and Allah knows best

if you know nothing about Islam what is the point of converting to it? just try to sincerely live your life in the best way you can without becoming amoral or pathological. if you want to learn about Islam then go ahead, if not then that is your decision. Islam teaches that "there is no compulsion in religion for surely right has become distinct from wrong" (Holy Quran chapter 2) i.e. that no-one should force you to convert to anything because you should be able to find out the difference between right and wrong yourself. It also teaches that each soul bears its own burden and it is only the conveying of the message which is a Muslim's obligation - not the forceful conversion of another nor the granting of absolution for any sin. we must remember our humanity, not arrogantly set ourselves up as partners with God. it is God's Grace alone that would turn a person's heart one way or another and it is the same that would absolve a person from sin i.e. 'save' them.

the Holy Prophet of Islam (saw) taught that a woman who lived her life as a prostitute once drew some water with her shoe to give to a thirsty cat or a dog. He advised that this act alone led God to grant her safe passage to heaven despite the other things she had done in her life. God forgave her so any other person may also ask God to forgive them. To ask for forgiveness is not an admission of inherent evil (because we are not inherently evil but are born inherently good ad develop a creeping duality between good and evil as we grow older) but is an act of admission of your human fallibility before your Divine Lord and attempt to gain closeness to Him.

furthermore Islam is not a wrathful religion but a peaceful and rational one It teaches that heaven is eternal and has different levels but that hell is only temporary. therefore all souls will eventually go to heaven regardless of their religion or other social categories. just that some people (perhaps including a few so-called Muslims as well as some of those from other of no faiths) will spend varying degrees of time in a hellish purgatory. Who will and who won't spend time there is God's decision - not yours, mine or anyone else's.

Edit: you will never really know if you are good enough for God - you can hope and pray but you do not know. that is a good thing as it is meant to keep you humble and stop you from being arrogant (thinking you can act as you please because you are already saved or chosen).

it is a fact that should instead encourage you to 'strive' (what Muslims refer to as 'jihad') to better yourself. this is best done with prayers (to praise God as well as to ask for forgiveness and help for you and others). prayers should also be supplemented with good works - whilst of course refraining from sinful works.

Don't know. Who know who goes where? If I say yes (while not sure) it will look this is a Muslim propaganda. Do you convert for the sake of going to heaven only? Did you know that Muslims who do good deeds for this particular reward are not pleasing God as much as those who do good and wait for nothing? i.e. be good and not greedy. Eventually, God knows what's in your heart (your intensions) and will reward you more. In Islam, if you give poor person money with your left hand, your right hand should now know, i.e. never tell others about your good-doing as that will be gloating. Do good in secret to please God not humans.

Thank you for this question.

According to Islamic theology, the act of taking Shahada, or conversion wipes your slate clean. Absolves you of all sins prior to that act. It is as if you are a new-born.

BUT - as we are also told, our actions are known to Allah through our intentions. So your conversion must be for the intention of worshiping Allah alone and not for the purpose of being relieved of sin. There has been a lot of discussion in Islam about death-bed conversions and their veracity. But a sincere believer should not hesitate to take Shahada. In my opinion, even those with dubious intentions are changed by doing so.

But in the end only Allah knows your true intentions in your heart and looks only at that and deals with you accordingly at the appropriate time.

And Allah knows best.

Peace and Blessings

Salim

PS if you are truly thinking about conversion please write to me through my profile here on Yahoo.

Well if you don't know anything about the faith and just recite stuff just for salvation that would not be the right intention therefore I don't think the conversion would count because it's a lie.

In my opinion I would say no considering that you've said you don't even know anything.

This is just my understanding so don't quote me on it.
