it is fine give it aleast another 2 weeks before paninking about not loseing weight. you have to give your body time to ajust to changes especially in diets it is not uncommon on a proper diet to actually gain weight in the first week.

the best way to lose weight is to do it gradually it means that is also takes longer to put the weight back on and is easier to keep off.

Plus if you start going to the gym alot you tend to start gaining weight that way as your fat is turning into mucle which in turn is heavier

Best of luck with your diet and i hope this was helpful

I don't know enough about their diet to answer that question. Other factors play into losing weight such as exercise or activity level, how much water you are drinking, and what & how much you are eating.

I started using Stack Body Tune Up and I didn't see any pounds lost until day 4. I've lost 35 pounds since July 15, 2006. So maybe the Herbalife diet works slower.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

There are many personal physical factors that affect how quickly you lose weight no matter what diet you may try.

Herbalife diets undertaken for a whole 30 day period ususally result in weight-loss for the person dieting - IF you follow the rules - BECAUSE
(1) You have several calls from the Rep who sold you the diet (If they are opearating correctly) and this can invoke the 'conscience' thing for most people making them less inclined to 'cheat' on the diet and stick to the 'regime'.
(2) Certain constituents of the diet will also involve taking diuretic herbs which make you 'pass water' - this also adds to any apparent weightloss effect.

The real truth about dieting - whatever 'fad' diet, passing craze, 'old wives' tale, well established MLM diet program, or 'diet-club' you use is that weight-loss is a VERY SIMPLE issue...

Notwithstanding that everyone has a different metabolism - so they digest and use the nutrients they consume at different rates - so some will be 'quick losers' and some 'slow losers' (the same applies for those trying to add weight/body building - hard gainers find it difficult to put on weight whereas others 'balloon' very quickly).

Your metabolism may be influenced by hereditary factors - but also your 'glandular' health (via your endocrine system) which will also have an impact (again maybe genetic) on speed of weight loss.

You can 'stimulate' your metabolism via certain means - which would encourage your body to 'burn energy' (calories) quicker. The most obvious way to do this is to exercise.

In a nutshell - if you have a certain average dietary intake of calories and
(1) You reduce that intake by a ameasurable amount over a prolonged period of time
and
(2) You burn more calories - through doing more vigorous activity... the simple sums of ‘less energy in’ and ‘more energy used’...will cause you to lose weight. It can do nothing else. (If you consume LESS energy than you use, your body will naturally draw on your fat reserves to 'fuel' the extra activity...that is what fat is for!)

If you lose weight too quickly - then it is usually mostly water to start with...and if lost through 'crash' dieting by severe restriction of calories...you will put it all back on again very soon when you start eating normally again (...and/or after a few glasses of water!!! ;-)

If it helps you to 'buy in' to a dietary method like Herbalife's - for the support and the encouragement to cut back on calories - then you will see some loss over the coming month - maybe only a few pounds...This would be the case with ANY 'dietary support' method.

But IF you REALLY want to lose weight over the long term...
(1) Reduce any unnecessary snacking
(2) Replace fatty foods with high fibre, complex carb alternatives (ie no chips/burgers/pizas - lots of fresh - preferably raw veg)
(3) Steadily increase your activity - don't go mad - increase the amount of exercise you do little by little until you are doing a minimum of 3 x '20 to 40 minute' stretches of fairly vigorous exercise week (e.g. brisk walking/stationary bike/low-impact aerobics) – BUT always ask your MD/GP/Physician before embarking on exercise if you have any health issues and/or are severly overweight.
(NOTE: Fairly vigorous exercise means you should be aware your heart is beating faster, you will possibly be sweating lightly. i.e. You should not feel as if you are gasping for air/on your last legs/sweating profusely)

If you maintain this regime for 6 weeks you will be amazed what a difference it makes and how much weight you lose...AND if you are a real slow loser...the answer is JUST KEEP GOING...and it will happen. After the 6 weeks?...Well just keep on doing what you are doing and you will reach a plateau weight which your ‘fit body’ is ‘normal’ at.

As you begin to redefine muscles and get fit - your body mass will change - so that you get denser muscle and less fat. Depending on how overweight you are - you will lose fat, gain muscle and where fat is excess you will lose weight. The real aim of weight loss is not loss for the sake of it but to replace ‘fat’ with ‘fit muscle’ for overall fitness.

If you lose weight only through restricting your diet and diuretics, and NO exercise, you will possibly lose muscle mass and will put weight back on as fat and fluid very quickly - even ending up as 'fatter' pro rata where muscle mass is lost but replaced by ‘fat weight’ (muscle just doesn't develop without some work).

So...Good Luck with Herbalife..BUT remember - it is NOT the product that determines how much, or IF you lose weight - it is dependent on your attitude - and sensible reduction in fatty foods and excess calories, complemented by a regular moderate exercise regime (that is exercise in addition to anything you already normally do...to burn extra calories)

ADDED: NOTE - To be clear to the misinformed contributors on this anwer: Herbalife is NOT a Pyramid scheme - it is a legitimate and long established Multi Level marketing company....BUT whether or not the supplements and the price of products is really worth it can only be determined by the buyer who must make a personal decision about what 'value' they are to them.
I am NOT and have never been a Herbalife Rep.

I feel that people are all different shapes and sizes, some women are born to be large and some to be thin. It is all down to how your body digests food, how quickly, each diet promises that you will see the affects in days but i dont feel that this is true, again it is down to how your body is built. If you keep to the diet you will probably see a difference but you have to be patient. Waiting desperately for something to happen will not happen. Remember a watched pot never boils.

Herbalife doesn't work. It's a pyramid scheme to get your money. The same can be said for the guy touting the Forever Living scheme on this question...healthy diet (fruit and veg, less fat and less simple carbs) and exercise is the way to go.

My daughter was going to be a agent for herbalife and did not do it as it does not work. The one thing that will get smaller is your bank balance. I have lost 8 stone and that is with no fads but sensible eating and a LITTLE of what you fancy does you good.
