With regard to individual liberty, is it a good thing that the government has restrictions on this? What would the implications be if there were no immigration laws?

No they should not be able to come and go as they please. they need to get jobs in their own country or come to another country legally. i'm so sick of illegal immigrants i wish that Texas could be a huge electric fence to keep them out of here!

yes they should be able to cross the borders freely it would free up so much money we wouldn't have to man border crossings or have all that equipment there the downside is maybe a terriorist or two get though and cause death but so what we kill ourselves on the highway, in the classroom, and at home everyday. People need to work and some people in America think they are to good to clean a persons house or pick vegetables and friut so let the borders be open...it can only help.

I've crossed many international borders, and I've lived and worked any place I chose; I lived and worked for an engineering company in Japan for 10 years.

The only requirement made of me was that I have a valid passport, keep my alien registration up to date, and carry a valid annual visa.

I was never denied entry into any country.

So, what's your complaint?

I thought they say the world is a global village. If indeed it is , there shouldn't be any restriction on immigration laws. Or does it end only on the internet?

Our schools and health care would be in even worse shape than they are and we would stop funding them for the poor. Personally, I think that would be a shame.

I don't buy that it will have such a negative impact. After all, if people *want* to be poor they can definately be poor just where they are- they don't need to move for that.

Besides, a mobile workforce is essential for the American Capitalism.

People should be free to move around, but only if the have skills needed, and can support themselves and their dependents financially.
