Waxing or laser hair removal. I've had laser hair removal done (for free, my uncle is a dermatologist - thank goodness!) it works great, but be prepared, it's very expensive, and I don't recommend it for a teenager. I found the best way to shave for me was to just rince the razor under water and JUST shave with water. Anything else made me break out. Luckily I don't have to deal with that anymore.

How about waiting until the last possible moment to start shaving?
I think getting rid of body hair is one of the more ridiculous things practiced by modern humans, but that being said, I often participate in the charade. However, I did not start shaving my legs until I was in my late teens, and thus have fairly light hair.
Having sensitive skin, I have spent most of my adult life NOT shaving under my arms. The hair there is light and soft, and there is not much of it. Every boyfriend I've had has not minded, in fact some men quite prefer it. Underarm hair also helps PREVENT body odor, believe it or not.

Waxing is an alternative that can cause the hair to lighten with each growth. But there isn't anything that will prevent growth aside from electrolysis which is both expensive and painful. If it were possible then schick would go out of business.

You can't prevent it. It is part of growing up. The shaving doesn't darken the skin, check your deodorant. An Ouch! alternative, wax them. Hair growth is delayed.

Try waxing or laser. Why would you want to pluck your underarm hair, I've never heard of that? If you have dark hair...it's pretty hard too avoid having dark armpits.

Shaving does not cause darkening or thickening. It just looks that way at first when hair is regrowing. Waxing and electrolysis are other options that keep hair away longer.

You can't prevent it. I suppose you could wax it, but of course that's only temporary too. I'm not sure what you mean by bad underarm though. Almost everyone I know shaves and none of us have "bad underarm."

you can't really prevent it unless you do something expensive such as electrolysis. or you can just deal with it like most women do by either shaving, waxing, or plucking (ow!).
it's tough to be a girl sometimes!

Ouch to plucking! Then shave and use a moisturizing anti-perspirant and deodorant.
