I realise this is a phobic condition, not a disease, but the catagories are narrow and 'other' was not listed although it says it is.

Yes I am so scared of otter refill pads (they remind me of my horrific days in the 6th form where I was bullied constantly by my ex-best friend) and I also jump whenever anybody puts a paperclip on any two sheets of paper.

As you can probably tell, people think I'm a little strange. This is probably why I was bullied.

No, I was scared of sharply contrasting colours (crosswords, chessboards, piano keyboards etc) when I was younger, but I forced myself to look at the plughole in the bath when the water was going down it, until the fear left me a bit, and now i enjoy doing crosswords although the lane lines in swimming pools still really freak me out.
I bet you're glad you can email instead of writing letters, eh?

This doesn't seem as common as clownophobia (yes, I have met TWO people who are terrified of clowns or their depictions).

Sounds like a combination of Aichmophobia (fear of needles, sharp things) and Papyrophobia (fear of paper), but most likely you're getting unique with this one.

You might find http://www.phobialist.com/#S- interesting if not helpful. It's a huge compliation of phobia names and their meanings.

My teenage daughter is terrified to use a "black" toilet seat. The ones sometimes found in public restrooms.
They must be white or she will find another restroom.
