Any better than ordinary lotion? Any specific brand in mind? Thanks in advance.

I would recommend using Arbonne's Herbal Foot Cream.
Walk away feeling refreshed with this stimulating and soothing, non-greasy herbal foot care formula. It’s blended with alpha hydroxy acids to help keep feet soft and supple.
Also, use a pumice stone in the shower. It will help get rid of the dead skin.

I used to use a cream that I rubbed in and it rolled the dead skin off. I use a pumace stone now because my feet crack occasionally if I don't. I like the stone better. Or if you prefer they have a foot file at the drug store that is made for filing off calluses and dead skin. File the skin until it is smoothe and rub a good hand cream on. Use the hand cream for a couple of days and the skin will be soft again. Repeat this as needed and it is a good idea to wear socks when you put the lotion on. Vaseline won't work for really dry feet and it is messy.

theres lots of good creams but u need to work on prevention too, never walk around barefoot not even at home, do a home pedicure regularly, soak ur feet then rub the hard skin with a pumice stone, rub lotion in, u might need todo this for a while before u see results, its no different to looking after the skin on ur face,
cleanse, exfoliate, moisturise

I have just started using a heel repair cream made by Scholl. It is really good. If you are in UK, it cost me around £5. Called Heel Repair Cream.
