No, that little clause will not help you. You will be considered guilty right along with him and I am sure you know that you could lose your house if the police know of any drug activity going on there.

not necessarily. depending on the stipulations in your lease and the laws in your state you could be held accountable. If you have knowledge of his "herbal explorations" you could be arrested for accessory to a felony. Most of the time if the roommate is just a casual smoker you should be fine, police won't worry about that unless lots of neighbors complain. But if he holds large quantities, sells or distributes, or grows plants, or has large smoker gatherings, you could be screwed. IF you're worried, cover your ***, however you feel does.

No that will most definately not protect you. A lease is a legal document on the "Civil" side of things, not "Criminal" . If he is growing pot in your basement, you will probably be charged as well and you could also be subject to having some assetts siezed.
Throw the bum out! Call the cops, tell them you are throwing the guy out, when and why. You have to protect yourself and what you have.

No. If you are aware of illegal actions taking place in your home and you do nothing, you are guilty of collusion and would face equal penalties and worse, if there are large quantities of drugs or if they are being grown there, you will probably lose your house as it would be seized by the police or the DEA. Ditch the loser and protect yourself and your house.

An innovative effort on your part - very imaginative - but it won't divert trouble from yourself if John Law comes to your door with a search warrant and subsequent arrest warrant for the both of you. But that's just an opinion.

No it will not protect you from legal discourse.
If you are worried about his illegal exploits, then you should kick him out before you get busted for his actions.

Probably not unless you are the one that called them. Because you had knowledge of the act gives you complicity.
