It doesn't have to be intercourse.
You can get to know each other's bodies by some heavy petting.
Kissing, caressing, licking, stroking.
It will also ease the sexual tension.
It was quite permissible between engaged people hundreds of years ago, so why not now?

So if you aren't interested in premarital sex (which I find admirable), how do you define the "next level." Are you asking how far you can go without actually having sex? I say, don't muddy the waters, stick to what you're doing. If you love each other, wait it out. But for now, don't get distracted.

I also wouldn't agree that finding alternatives to actual intercourse are advisable. They do NOT decrease tensions, they increase them. Prior responders gave you great advice as well on focusing on communications etc.

w/out sex the next level is knowing each other better through conversationa nd emotions. Communication is the best part of the formula u have more time to work out problems, issues and voice wht u both want out of this marriage adn b less worried or caught up in the sexual physicalness... but u do want to address ur views on sexual roles because wehn u do encounter that territory u need to know what each wants from it!

Good luck and God Bless

Well, the next level is not going to involve sex apparently. Therefore, why don't you go to couples counseling and deepen the relationship by talking about issues, values and expectations that you have about the upcoming marriage and of course what you want from each other sexually...

You can plan out some fun activities together. Sports activities or other recreational activities, some that interest you and some that interest her. This way you can get to know what the other person is good at and the not so good areas.

Try things like couple therapy. Get to know each other in new ways.
