She doesn't use any of the cosmetics or perfumes I gave her, because she's saving them up...

Ha! That sounds like my Mum! OK, what is your buget....?
If I still had mine, perhaps I would buy pearls or a silk scarf....or tickets to a show with a meal out..... or a day out at a health place where you can both be pampered! But these things ar expensive - a nice box or chocolates or a bottle of luxury bubble bath nicely wrapped....or framed photos of the family...or a day out in the park with her favourite take - away later is just as nice.

Oh,don't worry about it.If your mom will be 69 this year, that is not a big problem. With the old people, the happiest present in their birthday is the love you give to them(not the present).Because the old people has spent their happy birthday time with a lot of present or the love that their parents gave them. So,the best present for your mom this time is your love(but you should give your mom the small present but with a good meaning)You should say by your heart with a huge love not a prsent.Good luck!

I would say to spend some time with her by yourself would be the best present you could give her. Maybe, just the two of you could go to dinner and a movie or something of that nature. She probably does not need or care about any material things at her age and would prefer time spent with her child and getting out to do something if she is able. Good luck and happy birthday to your mum.

You could go through all your family photos and make a photoboard or two, chronologically done, to show how people have grown over the years - it might take a bit of time and effort - but it would make a lovely present.

I wonder if she's an adventurous 69 year old? I'm in my early 60s (very early!) and everyone assumes that I would like perfume, flowers, etc. (which I do), BUT .... I do wish someone would buy me a trip on a hot air balloon!

buy her an experience from lastminute.com
Life is for living, or else you could buy her a make up bag to put all the saved cosmetics into ;0)

You don’t need to get her anything.
Bring her out for a great meal and spend some quality time together.
