I am 18f this year and I have had acne since I was 12. I thought I would outgrow this problem but I haven't. Last time, it was only on my t zone but now, things have gotten bad and it actually grows all over my face, even under my nose and my earlobes .i suffer breakouts every other day.It is really frustrating because its not only itchy but sensitive and painful to touch. It is rather unpleasant to the sight too.
can someone help me? are there any good products? I have tried many but to no avail. The doctor says I may have pcos and that is causing the breakouts.I have tried tetracycline pills but they are not very effective.

I do not want to take the pill as it causes me to have bloating and nausea. I would appreciate it if someone could help me, thanks!

I am medical student and once even i used to get frustrated by my acne it is not only unsightly but also causes physical discomfort to us some times leaving behind permanent scarring. I used lots of medicins but none of them work for me. Now they had reduced a lot. If u want to get rid of ur problem first try to understand what causes these acne. for acne to develop it requires two things
1- hormonal imbalance (androgen excess)
2- infection
so u should attack both of them simultaneously.
Hormonal imbalance can be due to ur puberty, genetic or depression
infection is secondary phenomena & is due to unhiegine

Our skin has multiple sebatiouse glands which secreats oily sebum. With hormonal imbalance they start secreting more and more sebum this excess sebum starts accumalating and forms good culture media for bacteria to grow. This is what forms acne. Now if u burst these acne with ur finger bactarias will be released and spread to surrounding skin, some bactaria will stick to ur fingers and leter whenever u will touch ur face it start spreading to that areas. Once u understand this phenomena it will be easy for me to advice u following measure
1- Never ever try to burst ur pimples with finger, If u did then wash ur hand and face immidiatly with water.
2- Wash ur face with soap atleast 2-3 times in a day
3- Stay in clean hieginic room
4- Use Clindamycine ointment for local application dont use any other cream without doctors advice.
5- Try avoid going out in strong sun light as far as possible.
6- If u have dandruff in ur hair use antidandruff shampu
7- OC-Pills are very helpfull if ur a girl (male should not take them)
8- Start meditation it will hell u lot to correct ur mental health and hormonal imbalance.
9- Be aware that acne may land u in depressions which will further aggrevate the problem. So stop worring too much about ur problem.. Try to keep ur self busy in ur hobbies.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!

Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:

1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.

I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.

There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

PCOS - Polycystic Ovary Syndrome?
Anyhow, about the acne, I have it, too. Pernox Scrub is an excellent cleanser for folks who have acne. I find it a Walgreen's.
The definitive treatment for really stubborn acne is Accutane, and it requires a doctor's prescription. It is NOT an antibiotic as tetracycline is, so therefore, doesn't upset the beneficial flora in the gut. The Accutune treatment takes about 6 months. It works. Of course, after Accutane, you must continue to take excellent care of your skin, using a cleanser meant for oily skinned folks.
Of course, take good care of your over-all health, by eating responsibly and taking a good multi-vitamin. Over-all health is important to skin health.

Try Proactive (if helps some).

Try to drink only water, exercise to loose weight, and stay away from processed foods. I understand the PCOS part, and still get a whitehead around menstral time. If you're acne is bad you may want to seek a doctor who specializes in laser treatments.

Have you tried a homoeopathic remedy 'Sulphur' after one week you should see an improvement. Otherwise I would recommend the pill. My acne cleared within 1 week, after taking the pill. I had severe adult acne after giving birth, this lasted for four years. I stopped taking the pill and have noticed that if you take sulphur it keeps it at bay. Good luck

i can help you with a outside in and and inside out...

Outside in: You should use some good products on your skin to help to not make it inflammed and prevent germs from attacking your skin.

Inside out: however, the root of your problem is likely not to be your skin but your hormones or liver. So I would advise you to do a detox. You will not only lose weight but find that you end up with better skin in the end as well.
