El hombre del tiempo se equivoca a veces.
The weatherman gets it wrong sometimes.

La mujer del vecino me pone caliente.
The neighbor's wife makes me hot.

Del in spanish means de el, always associated to the male gender, as in "his" or "of the ".

This is a popular saying
"Of the pig, even the way it walks"
it refers to how delicious pork is, that even the way it walks seems "delicious"

"Del suelo, al cielo"
another popular saying...it means
"From the ground to heaven"...it refers to someting that would take you directly to heaven.

There are dozens of uses for DEL and also AL. They are both contractoions Del: from the (de el) and Al: to the (a el) they are of male gender...the feminine would be de la and a la, these do not admit a contraction.

DEL is a contraction: DE plus EL
De means from or of
El is the masculine article (the in English) not very useful in English.
