Depends on the situation.........If your at McDonald's and a guy walks in with an M-16 I would have to say running.......If you're getting called down to the principals office I would have to say walking............

Well, assuming that you run and walk with a quick pace for the same amount of time, running will make you more fit. The reason being, running will burn off more calories and improve your pulse rate better than walking quickly.

Running

A brisk walk is much more beneficial. Ever read a jogging magazine? Every other ad is for some sort of joint support or pain relief. Our bodies were never intended to run on pavement and our joints can't continue to absorb the shock without a breakdown of some sort.

So walk. Walk briskly, swing your arms, wear ankle and wrist weights. Carry a backpack with 20-75 pounds in it. Walk uphill or downhill or on a level surface. Stay hydrated.

Walking does the same thing running does - but it takes more time and is less likely to result in injury.

You're going to burn more calories if you run since you extend much more energy. However, walking can be an effective exercise provided you do it long enough. you can also try walking or running up hill, this will add more stress to your muscles which equals burning more energy. Some folks simply can't run so walking is great exercise. You can also add climbing stairs. You can even add ankle or wrist weights

Recent studies have shown that walking is not enough to keep you fit. It is not intensive enough exercise to make you work hard enough.

Try running at a gentle pace and work up to quicker paces for longer times/distances.

I think running. It is making you tired more and it is even better when you mix it with a sport(example:tennis, football, basketball) but never chess
