If you mean the year at pre-school, it would be good if the child could say his name and address, know the colours, maybe tie up shoelaces if necessary, button and unbutton jackets. Knowing the correct wines to serve with which meals would not seem important at this stage.

Manners and sharing is a big one, definitely a sign of development advancement.
Swinging on swings is a coordination feat for toddlers.
Counting and simple math (if you have 1 apple in this hand and 1 apple in that hand, how many apples are you holding?)
Alphabet and numbers by sight
Empathy and sympathy for another child (it pulls them out of their own self-centered world, which can only happen in a group setting)

How old is the kid?
I'm gonna guess he's little.
I guess I would want him to learn things like his ABCs and numbers and shapes and stuff like that. I would want him to learn how to play with other children. Just how to interact with others: adults as well as children.
