Ive got this thing in my head where I keep thinking about dieing every day, I get really worked up and scared about it, I havent got anything wrong (hopefully) but it scares me stiff to think that one day I wont be here. I try to stop thinking about it but it always comes back into my head. How can I snap myself out of it? I know a lot of you will say i need to appreciate life, I really want to but its like sometimes this takes over my head. Only genuine answers please.

When ever you get these bad thoughts immediately replace them with good thoughts. Think of something that you enjoy doing, like having lunch with a friend or whatever you like to do. It will take a lot of work on your part to do this. It will not come easy. Sometimes you can't just snap out of it. If you continue to think of thoughts of dieing or are wanting to hurt yourself, please go tell someone your trust and find a doctor. If you continue to be depressed then you may need medication. There is nothing wrong with medication if you really need it.
Also having a good diet is a must to feed your body so that you will feed your mind. You wouldn't drive your car on an empty gas tank, so don't try to function with your body not being fed enough. This don't mean your overeat, but eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water. Water is very important to flush away the toxins of your body. Try to stay away from white sugar. Pure maple syrup makes a great sweetener and has lots of good minerals in it.
I've been where you are at and it is sure hard to live a happy life. If you think happy thoughts you will bring happy people and happy events into your life. If you think negative then that is what you will bring into your life. Been there, Done that! It's not fun!!!
Email me if you want to talk or need more information. Take care of yourself and DECIDE to be HAPPY! You CAN do it.

Lets see if you can figure out a way to overcome this fear, sometimes just figuring out how, might cause the fear and anxiety to go away, no matter whether you actually follow through on the solution or not.
Sort of like figuring out that if you had a bunch of money in the bank, all your financial troubles would go away. And then, no matter whether you have a bunch of meny in the bank or not, as if by magic, it doesn't bother you all that much anymore.
For your case, I have something I'd like for you to try.
With all the advances in store with medicine, some experts are saying that if you can manage to live another 20 years from today, there's a very good chance that immortality could very well be in the offing.
And I'm not talking about mere survival, but living in perfect health with a young-looking body, and a mind that functions well too. Imagine having the knowledge and smarts of being 100+ years old yet living in the body of a 25 year old. They say that living to be 500 or even 1,000 years old won't be out of the question.
So, do you think you might be able to hang in there for another 20 years or so? Just take it one year at a time. Before you know it, you'll be able to walk into the beauty/barber shop for a check up and walk out on your way to becoming a new man, 'er woman.
After we beat death, next we'll have to figure out a way around taxes... :-)

I have been scared of dying before but only when i think about it deeply, i try not to though, there is no point just live the life you've got to the full, with worrying it might make you ill and stressed. Maybe you should speak to a councillor or a doctor- i'm not sayng you have mental problem but with some people they get scared and can't stop thinking about the worst. Maybe a dvd from that hynosis man will help is it paul someone?
Good luck and i hope you get over this.
Take care

I used to think like that when I was very young, Then I got really ill and very nearly died. After that I wasnt scared of dieing and believe that what will be will be!! If it is my time today or tomorrow I have had a lovely life and have no regrets. Also I dont believe in god and heaven it all just ends. Maybe we just wake up and it has all been a dream!!
Dont be scared their is nothing that you can do to prevent it happening, it is natural. All I worry about is living too long, you to the age when you start wetting your self and arent incontrol of your body anymore that is my nightmare!!!! If I get close to that point I will suck on the end of a shot gun and blow my brains out.

OK, take my case in point.
Bad heart...
(Two pacemakers) Atrial fibrillation all the time.
Bad Back
Deteriorating discs.
Over weight
(I have to lose 90 pounds just to be called Obese!-->Your obese at 50 pounds).
Bad eyes
Near sighted
Bad feet
Dropped arches
And a whole lot of other things that I probably dont even know, or want to know about...
AND YOU GOT PROBLEMS???!!! ;o)
If thats all you have, is a "worry", then you are in great shape and I wouldnt have a thing in the World to worry about if I were you...
Dying is a process of living. Your expected to live life to the fullest, so that your "ready" to die, when the time comes. I know some 90 year old people who are waiting to die, because they can tell you some stories that they have done in thier lives, and have done more than you or I could ever have...
I suggest you get into some serious counceling sessions, so you can get on with your life, because you have a long life ahead of you and I pray that you live it to the fullest!!
Make each day count like its your last, and when it "is" time, you wont regret it one bit!
I sure am!!!!!!
I wish you well..

I feel the way you do but i have to take medication to help deal with it all. I have terrible health anxieties and always think about dying. Believe me i don't want to die any time soon and i do appreciate life and have been blessed in so many ways. I feel guilty worrying about this when there are others less fortunate then me who are in hospital beds right now that won't live another hour. I pray about it and i TRY not worry about it because worrying about things isn't going to change the outcome of any situation it will only ruin todays happiness. I wish you all the best and i can certainly understand what you feel because i'm there also. GOD BLESS!!!!

I know it's hard but you just have to fully accept that you are going to die, along with everyone else on this planet, and there is nothing that can be done about it. Don't waste your time here worrying about what is humankind's inevitable fate, enjoy the time you have. Even if you could live for eternity, would you want to forever have to see all the people you ever loved die around you? In comparison, death can't be that bad - after all, everyone does it!

I use to feel the same but then I thought I can't do anything about it so I may as get on with my life and make the most of it. My mum also died and that made me think that life is to short to worry about the things we can do nothing about, So make your inprint in the world and make everyone around you wish you were still here when you do leave this relem. Who knows if there is anything eles after death I think this is what scares us the most not knowing what or if there is anything eles to come when we die. Enjoy today and let tomorrow look after its self.

It happens to more people than you may think. Scares everyone really. I am like you I guess. I just try to enjoy every second I have and try to make 100% out of life. I also consider myself lucky to be healthy and able to walk, see, hear. It's not something everyone has. So it's OK to think about dying and be scared, but try not to let it affect your quality of life.
Best thing is to set some goals and work hard to achieve them. It will give purpose to your life and take your mind off nasty thoughts!

I think that once you come to terms with the fact that it WILL happen and there is nothing you can do about it - then you might be able to get over it. I also think that if you can tell yourself that, then you will begin to live each day to the full. Imagine if you did die tomorrow (which I'm sure you won't!) Can you imagine how p*ssed off you'd be at wasting so much time worrying about it?!
If you really feel that it's affecting your life that much though, you might be wise to discuss it with your Dr who will surely be able to refer you to someone who can help. It's not something to be ashamed of to need help with your head as well as your body when you're ill.
