Because your hair follicles were genetically predisposed to shrinking up and stopping the growth cycle, due to your genes.
But don't worry, scientists are getting closer to a cure each day.

It is mostly genetic, generally if your Maternal grandfather went bald it means that you will also. It could be allopecia due to stress. Also could be due to possible vitamin or mineral defficiencies It happens to a lot of men but they look tonnes better when they don't cover it up with silly comb overs! One of my pals ABSOLUTELY loves bald men, her last few bfs have been bald , so don't worry you certainly wont be classed as ugly !!!

Your Mother carried the Baldness gene in her chromosomes, and some where down her "genetic line", there was a bald person, and the nasty gene has come back to show its shiny head on your chrome dome {:o)

It's your mothers fault. The gene is carried and passed on from the mother.

consult the internet or a dermatolgist for a complete understanding, it is a condition with chemicals in the body, but I have noticed it usually starts with guys with finer hair compared to the thick hair some guys have

be happy about that - spares you a lot of trouble:
no need to wash, cut, brush, comb or do anything else which I need to do EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!! You just take a soft cloth, polish - done! Lucky you!
