the bed of roses has many hidden thorns means watch carefully. something that is so beautiful and seems so right can end up really hurting you. say you meet a girl that is everything you want and is perfect to you. that would be the bed of roses. but when she proves you wrong by hurting you in some way that would be the thorns.

I have no idea what the reference to the bottle blonde is all about, but the "bed of roses" is an expression meaning a lifetime of ease and comfort. And yet no matter how comfortable a person gets, the "thorns" of adversity, discomfort at least, are always there. No one gets off without any trouble, no matter how lucky they are.
