I took my son to the dr. tues and found out he had pneumonia. They put him on azithromycin. He went to bed at 5pm tues. night woke up at 11am and went back to sleep at 5pm. Other than sitting up long enough for me to give him a drink and med he has not been up. I'm sorry this is my only child and I've never had to deal with this before is this normal?? I have been watching his temp. and it's not high actually only97.7. He feels cold,but is sweating. Any help

U have not mentioned age of ur child. It is common phenomena for small child to sleep a lot during there illness. Does ur child runs high fever when not on treatment if yes he might be having meningitis. Best u change ur doctor and have a thorough check-up

I wish he recovers soon

it is common to be sleeping in the first days due to the medication and the cold he feels

in Pneumonia feel cold in the bones we sweat because the body tries regulate the body temp

It sounds like he is just sick The process of getting over pneumonia is tiring and drugs can make you sleepy after taking them which can disrupt your sleep patterns.. It is smart to monitor his temperature.

I had pneumonia a while ago, All I did the first few days was sleep.

just monitor him. Make sure there is no continuos vomiting and severe breathing difficulty. Otherwise let him take a lot of rest, take a lot of fluid, make him some soup.And dont forget his antibiotics.
