I have been reading and responding to Yahoo answers for awhile and can't help but notice how many bad spellers and typers there are in this world! Use punctuation everyone and spell check!! PLEASE for the LOVE OF GOD!! It's really hard to take ur questions or responses seriously when there is no period to be found in your sentences or your responses have no punctuation(s) at all! I reallly got the jist of this when I saw someone wanted to kill him/her self but couldn't even type full sentences or paragraphs defining his/her feelings. Well please just DO IT!! We really don't need anymore idiots in this world. Please get "edumacated" - it would do wonders to yourself and the rest of us!

Thank u for letting me vent my 2 cents. I'm an accounting "geek" and speak better in numbers than words but I still have issues with idiots not being able to type in his/her own language though. Numbers work better for me, but heck, LEARN how to type and spell people - it's not that complicated!!!

Hello: "Online Lingo" (U, LOL, LMAO, WTF, TTYL etc.. etc..) is common ground when ur typing online - at least for us fast typers and usual "onliners" anyway! U, oh excuse me, "YOU" at least understand my rant in order to respond to it in the first place right? So quit picking at it like u don't know what I'm talking about! "LOL", oh excuse me again, "laugh out loud"!

I use the spell check all the time. Even when I know every thing's fine, it's become a habit. And like you, I find it annoying when some one fails to use it. The lack of punctuation is also rather irritating and can lead to some major confusion.
Humans have the ability to recognize words even when miss spelled, but the text type thing just tears me up and I don't usually bother with them.
Also what I find semi-annoying is some one using 'ur' instead of 'you're' while criticizing others about spelling. lol

well i agree with ya too. Umm..i think people spell bad or "out of convention" coz it makes them look cool..and don't ask me how or y...it is a trend and a crazy feeling amongst us..
the second reason is that the bad spellings are shorter and quicker to type...and maybe more comfortable on the keyboard..
i mean it irks me too...y would we today's yongsters feel it cool or hi-tech to type "4m" for from...or Ur for your..does it look romantic or sorta high tec. Can't say...
but take heart..i know your cause is just.
thanks for da question also>

I think because people started making up their own words like "u" because they are too lazy to type out full words and complete sentences. (Do people who don't speak english have a problem with the letter "u"? )

If someone such as yourself can type u then words like teh seem acceptable if not plain and clear. Besides, I think people are more concerned with expressing their opinion then taking the time to spell check it.

it could be greater desirable if anybody shared my thought that freedom of (and from) faith is to be upheld religiously and that anybody who disagreed on worldviews in simple terms discovered the thank you to conform to disagree. If that have been the case, it can be a greater desirable place and we ought to shop the variety that makes existence interesting.

Your spell checker lets you spell "your" as "ur"?
Must be a really bad one.
