I am just 17 and the phenomenan here in my place is after school everyones pursuing either in medicine or engineering. Thought I might go for engineering but theres too many types of engineering to choose from. Dad insists I take up Electrical while my teachers recommend chemical. I need to fill in a few sponsorship forms and quick. Which college is the best- I may be able to choose a university overseas.Whatever it is, I still want to teach, so I wanna know, which field is the best , so I can study it and then teach it.

If you like lecturing a lot, then consider being a parent. They can't seem NOT to stand five minutes without lecturing their kids.

And theres not too many types of medicine to choose from? Theres like 5 major areas of engineering and god knows how many areas of medicine. I would recommend civil engineering, the largest engineering form of engineering, but I suppose I'm biased, being a civil engineering student and all.

Do what YOU want to do - not what your parents or anyone else wants you to do.
If you really do want to teach, then find a subject YOU like and study that! Your students will benefit from your passion for the subject, and in turn, you will be happy.

(Good pysics teachers are hard to find (if our university is any indication of the norm)! So, perhaps consider physics, since that is a requirement for EVERY enginnering and medical student.)

If you want to do Engineering, then go for Electrical, what with electronics progressing so fast everyday. Electronics is a part of electrical engineering. One of my friend did E.E.E. That means Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He did from India, You can choose any University which is convenient for you to go.
