What gets me is how so many people with so widely divergent worldviews can all have relationships with ostensibly the same God. So to a homophobic person, God considers homosexuality an "abomination", while to a moderate liberal, God is love, and all consensual expressions of that love come from God.
Putting aside the slightly worrying idea that God might have a multiple personality disorder, doesn't this make god like the electron?
The electron, if you look at it and expect it to behave like a particle, behaves like a particle. If you look at it and expect it to behave like a wave, it behaves like a wave. At one and the same time. Mysterious as hell, but nevertheless apparently true.
So...does that mean that religious denominations are not so much dealing with different gods, but looking at the same god with different expectations? And are they in fact notsomuch having a different relationship with God, just making sure they don't have to talk to the OTHER people God seems to be talking to?

some pagans evaluate in focused gods and goddesses. Others view "deity" as being a rigidity they robotically call the Universe. on a similar time as you ask a pagan in the event that they think approximately in "God" as despite if it rather is a acceptance (or as you're saying: the christian god) and so as that they say no... it rather is by way of the fact they are pagans and not christians. Now additionally, evaluate, wiccans and pagans for between the main section are the comparable element. besides the undeniable fact that no longer all pagans are wiccan as you look to hold close. it is likewise workable that your chum join no longer a delegated way of existence yet to a set of medical and pagan-non secular ideals that have not got any Label or call. In a nut shell: some pagans have exact gods and goddesses others do no longer and that's frequently probability-loose to verify that they do no longer save on with the christian god.

God is not a mystery.
It is just something ,person can not comprehend with his mind. But what is possible to believe in as proofs are all around.
No need for you to see the thunderstorm to make sure it exists in the nature

all religions are centered around some mystery.
if that were not true - we would have found the message of universality. every one is stengthening their walls against the others. there is no universality.
because we don't understand the relationship with things in front of us, and see definitiveness in them - we create a concept of a pure-being. we build our imaginary relationship with him. in this sense - deny what is real, and try to relate with something imaginary.

They also say that women are a mystery and yet you can love a woman, right? It just means that nobody can know God in totality but he has revealed what is necessary for our salvation through the bible and through his apostles.

First of all in the Bible God tells us his name, YHWH or Jehovah or etc etc.....
The bible again state what God hates and likes, and also with the laws and regulations we also get a sense of his personality of what he holds as important to him. In short , the bible is a description of God and there is no such mystery in who he is and what he expects/requires from his intelligent creation.
Catholic doctrine and language regarding God is a mystery is false teaching.

I encourage you to begin with prayer. Pray that God will reveal Himself to you. For it is written, "The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power." God wishes to reveal to you things that you cannot even imagine now. It just takes you to open your heart to Him, pray, and seek Him through studying the Word of God. And some patience and trust too...I assure you He wants to have an intimate relationship with you and will do so in due time!!
