Why do people complain about why others dont use spell check, but they dont even punctuate properly?? no capitalization, no commas ,etc..I just dont get it.. ok so wonderful ,you have spell check to make you look smarter, but you dont have anything for punctuation now do you??I mean If I was at work, I'd understand, but this is only Yahoo Q&A right??? and no I am NOT saying that I am punctuating properly or even spelling right.. I am just making a point

I really find it strange that people complain.

If the meaning is conveyed between the writer and reader without any loss of meaning, and without any misinterpretation, then neither spelling nor grammar issues should matter.

Personally I always try to use good spelling and grammar, however that is because I like that to be a part of my own character. If anyone else chooses not to spell or punctuate properly, the point of the language is to communicate what your meaning is, not to look pretty while doing so. So long as it is not so horribly mistyped that I can't actually understand what is being said, then I've no problem with seeing people type in shorthand and forget their punctuations.

one can still understand words that are spelled correctly. even if there is no capitalization or punctuation. My point being, if you ask a question, and no one can decipher the question because the spelling is that bad, why ask the question. And if you answer a question, and you want your answer to be read, one would understand the answer better if the spelling was correct. now if you sat there and checked my capitalization, well sometimes my shift keys just don't work. but i make it a point to use punctuation as it is needed.

Actually, I do. Punctuation is just as important as good spelling in communications. That is why I generally complain about spelling AND grammar.

You may want to capitalize after your punctuation, too.

;)

i don't capitalize because i'm too lazy. i like punctuating. i spell ok, i make mistakes when i type fast and that's because of the keyboard. i dont't mind NOT punctuating &capitalization as long as you understand what people want to say. i am not a native english speaker but some of the mistakes i see at native speakers are just...terrible.that annoys me because i think it's a shame not knowing your own language.

punctuating something properly is one thing, when you can't spell worth a damn and you are to stupid to use spell check that is when I start to set irritated a little bit, and also it is one thing if it is just a single type here and there as opposed to a whole paragraph that looks like a 3 year old was typing it, anyways that's just my opinion on it

I like punctuation. It means the difference between grunting and pointing and scribing trash onto a page.
