As per Tantra Path of hindus, God who is indefinable, formless and attributes less, divides himself into two poles one Male aspect and one female aspect, who procreate the universe...here
male & Female is like Consciousness & Energy, and +ve and -ve, and witness and doer.
Accordingly the creation is made of two poles in all aspects
Shaktas thus worship the God as Mother.
