I met this guy on eharmony, and he seemed normal. He asked me what the worst thing I ever did was, and I told him I had a car accident when I was 18 where I drove a car off a cliff. Toward the end of our date, he was driving back to my car, and I asked him the same. He said he once stole $10k over a period of 3 months from his employer. I didn't know what to say. He wasn't kidding. He didn't say he was sorry. He just put it out there matter of factly. I wanted to query him further, but he pulled up to my car. We both got out. We hugged, quick kiss. Good-bye. He's called me since, wants to go out again, and I don't know how to broach this subject of finding out the details. I just can't do it over the phone. I'm going to wait until he's in front of me, because I have to see his face when he answers. I've never in my life had this happen before. Any feedback at all would be of help at this point. ?????

That's a little too much information for a first date! Although it's better that you find out earlier than later that he's legally/morally challenged.

The fact that he was so willing to state that is worrysome- it sounds like he's actually proud of it. If you really like him, do have a talk face-to-face about it. Simply tell him that he shocked you with that information, and ask him for more details. Was he caught? Would he do it again? Was he proud of it? Read his facial experssion and his body language. Does he seem honest to you. If he seems untrustworthy after your discussion, dump him and move on!

He's a damn lire. No one that stole that much money would tell. He tried to impress you and messed up bad. He doesn't know it freaked you out so he still think he's cool. Make up a story (like he did) why you can't see him any more. If it's true (and I doubt it) It's still a reason to dump him. Do you want a lire or a thief? Don't ask him about it, not a good idea.

If you feel that it's not a joke, I wouldn't still think twice. With that kind of story on a first date, I would question who he really is. I'd decide not to see him again. I think it's a red flag. No need to ask him about it - end of story.

seems like one of those you gotta throw back in the water--if he were kidding, surely he would have said so; what's with your accident? you drove it off on purpose? (bonnie and Clyde?)
