it's the climate and survival that influence the way we live
in cold countries (having 4 seasons), hundreds of years ago the life is hard, have to survive in conditions where the climate is changing. they are forced to work and think hard how to survive. this has become a culture through many generations
while in hot countries ( having 1 season), hundreds of years ago, everthing is generally the same. people there enjoy easy life and don't have to work and think hard how to survive. this has been developed as a culture through many generations
by the way, Japan is a cold country, having 4 seasons, just like most of european countries
however, based on world history, the early civilization started in hot climate regions like the Nile, the Babylon, Mesopotamia

Because people in clod countries are working harder.
For example in Italia there is much differences between north and south regions... In north people are working harder, and in south people are only going to the sea... :)
