taking care of the child..
small things like time, food, diapers, clothing (they really cost alot, and main reason why mothers gave-up their children).. the psychological need for a person next to you.. and share the burden..
society views, lack of family support and the fact that men do not hover around single moms.. come second after the child's love and well being..

No man to lay by you so you can snuggle against his warm body, having him wrap his arm around you and tell you that he'll take over taking care of the kid for night so you can have a good sleep.

For me, it's my daughter and the tears she cries as she doesn't want to go to her father's place. She is ignored there and it breaks my heart.
