It is not ok. The tree may hug you but you should keep your hands off it until it's 18 at least.

Why not? Unless the tree has a beehive on its branch...or there are red ants nearby (bites from red ants can be either painful or deadly or both). Or unless you believe in some superstition. :)

i used to hug trees but then ants got all over me, so i do not do that anymore.
