buy a water pic. it does a great job of getting all that hard to reach stuff outta your teeth and its more gentle than a toothpick, which could break and get stuck...then your at square one! not to mention using any other kind of object could bend your wire or even break a bracket. I had braces for 3 years and i am so glad i got that water pic. P.S. you can add mouthwash to it to make your teeth x-tra clean. **hope this helps :)

You can still floss with braces on. You need to make a loop with the floss and then thread it under the wire. Then you can floss away. Good luck. Need a pic to understand what I am talking about have a look at this site. http://www.northsideortho.com/hcare.html

My kids had braces and I got them the floss on a stick. It is tight and easier to get between teeth.

you need a water pic, when i had braces it was that or some ither hand held device,it was a plastic rubbery thing that used to come on the end of all toothbrushes, anybody remember that? or am i that old? use a water pic, youre parents are already spending a crapload on your braces might as well convince them to spend the money on the the pic

Try to use your mouth to squirt watter between the two teeth as hard and fast as you can. Swish it in and out with your mouth closed, like gargling sort of. This may work it loose. If that won't do it you should call your orthodontist.

just get a toothbrush and try to use the bristles like a toothpick, by pressing it between the gaps between each tooth.
i know how you feel i used to have braces and its the most annoying thing when u get food stuck in them.

i have braces too, use a toothpick very carefully, or you can go buy special floss that has threaders for braces

I remember seeing water picks for these types of things. I searched the web and found this:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22dental+water+jets%22+%2Bbraces&ei=UTF-8&fr=ks-ans&x=wrt&meta=vl%3Dlang_en&_adv_prop=web

Numerous sites for you to visit for comparisons.

With your being new to braces, you might want to consider investing in one...??
