Creativity (like everything regarding living beings) has an evolutionary explanation.
In terms of natural selection, there is an advantage to being creative. In the wilderness, a more creative being can solve problems less creative ones can't. The creativity itself is manifested through minute generational mutations that are random, but then subjected to the non-random process of natural selection in which those traits beneficial to survival can allow the being in question a better chance of living long enough reproduce and rear offspring who will inheret the creativity and possibly acculumate more via mutation.

Close your eyes and sit in the stillness of the day or night and as you use your senses to hear, and smell, and clear your brain of all the worlds noise, then you find that you are left with all that you can touch, and taste, and as you open your eyes, you see everything from a different perspective and it is that freshness of view that allows you to be creative. To become more creative you must choose to look at all things from a different angle - get dizzy and watch everything come to a stand still. Lay on the couch and drop your head off backwards. Look at the sky with only one eye open. Use your imagination as to how you can see things and hear things and touch things and feel things in such a way that you never have before. That is when you realize that all that is within you can be set free and released as creativity.

The fact that God made us in His image means we are creators also just as He is a Creator. My creativity comes from the knowledge that He and I have a partnership. I need Him and He needs me. We work together. Prayer and meditation help me to be more creative. When I am in a creative drought, I ask my Father for help. I follow His lead when I create. I look at the lovely and beautiful things He has created and it inspires me to create something beautiful.
I also look at humanity - my brothers and sisters all over the world and the beauty they have created. The fact that I am unique and one of a kind means I can create unique and one of a kind work.
Low self esteem says that I can not do what I was made to do. I tell low self esteem where to go.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
Great question. Thanks for asking.

I adore your question. Sadly I have no rational answer but I think “angels” have something to do with it.
