I'm a guy so give me some products that work. I bought some Dove lotion and I've been using that for a few days. Is there something better to use? Or Is Dove okay and will my dry skin go away?

I live in Chicago so it's getting cold outside, and it usually happens around this time every year. I don't have an acne problem so I rarely wash my face (I know that may sound gross to some, but I really don't need to).

Dove is Ok, it's mild.. but you need an exfoliant. I find the microdermabrasion sets very useful. But if you don't want to get the expensive stuff just make sure you get a mask that exfoliates good. Then you have to establish what kind of skin you have. And get the moisturizer accordingly. If you have normal to dry skin, you need a creamier lotion. For normal-to-oily, you need something light.
For combination skin there's something in between.. always.
I think you should customize your lotion according to your skin type, and you can stay with Dove if you want, or I would try Nivea, or Oil of Olay. They're all good. I personally love Nivea. I don't use that right now, I am into Christian Dior skin care, a lot lately, and Principal Secret.
The Principal Secret skincare line has a great microdermabrasion/ exfoliant product. You can look it up at www.principalsecret.com but you'll have to call for the 'advanced" option, they only have the Reclaim line advertised right now. However, you might find this one appealing..
Ok, I hope I gave you enough to go on.

Dry skin can be a problem. Not only is it hard to look at, but it feels like your skin is going to tear right off of your face. I'm not sure what the climate is like where you live, but the first thing you need to address is what kind of soap you're using to wash your face. Instead of using the same soap on your face that you on your body consider investing in a facial cleanser for sensitive skin. My suggestion would be to stay away from oil of olay, noxzema, clean and clear, neutrogena and lean towards cetaphil. As far as moisturizer go try The Body Shop's Hemp Face Protector. If you can afford it Dr. Hauschka's has an excellent skin care line at most health food stores also, but only use that as a last resort as the former work just as well for less than half the cost. Remember to only wash your face morning and night with your hands and nothing else and moisturize immediately after cleansing and as much as you need to during the day to be comfortable. Good Luck!

is this weather related dryness? if you just have dry skin it is probably on the sensitive side. you should not use hot water when you wash your face .make sure that you use a gentle soap a creamy cleanser (store brand is fine).even noxzema is good for this. a good moisturizer for you to use could be oil of olay again the stores brand might be enough.if you are still having dryness try PURIST brand daytime moisturizer you can find it at Sally's beauty supply stores its very good and costs around five dollars.

I like dove and it can really smoothen your dry skin. On the face you would be needing a moisturizer. Use it everyday after you wash your face.

This sounds too simple to work, but it will..just apply vicks vapor rub ( don't get into the eyes) a thin coat will do..leave on over night and presto..your skin will be soft, and the texture will improve..no more dry skin..this works great on chapped hands, also on dry heels, elbows,knees..tried and true..good luck

if you look in the make up area of the store you go to you can find somethings that will clean your face and keep it moisturized use this type of stuff after it goes away and it will help keep it away. i like to use Oivlay and Noxzema products.

ohhh...im from texas...so i always have this problem. but you can take olive oil and sugar to make a paste and rub it all over any part that is dry. not only will it exfoliate but it softens for days...but dont do it more than once a week.
