Yes, I have an answer. Don't let HIM decide where YOU stand. If he is wishy washy and you don't know where you stand, you stand up and walk out. You will get your answer rather quickly, I guarantee it.

first thing.
do not do it over the phone or email or messenger.
if the person is not able to talk to you face to face then be wary.
when you ask, ask
him,
1. where do i stand when it comes to being in your life, friend or girlfriend
2. Do you see us being more than friends. " oh ya dont put yourself on hold if he says there is a possibility"
if he says there is a possibility, then just keep going with your life and dont put your heart on hold. you may spend a long time not letting yourself love.

If your relationship is a sexual relationship, the question is "when are we going to get married?" Where you stand is not as important as where you lay and whether there is a committed future for the two of you.

Don't do it over the phone. I think you need to talk to him in person. That way you will get to see him when you ask him. Also he can not change the subject. That way you will get a good answer and you can look him in the face and see if he is being honest with you.

Is there a future for us?, do you love me?, is this relationship going anywhere?, Do you want to keep seeing each other?, how do you feel about us? what do you want out of this relationship?

IS THERE A PROBLEM WITH US OR ME? HOW CAN I MAKE THINGS EASIER FOR YOU.
IF HE NEEDS TIME, THEN IF YOU LOVE HIM AND TRULY WANT THINGS TO WORK, DON'T PRESSURE HIM, AND LET HIIM HAVE HIS SPACE. YOU MUST BE PATIENT AND UNDERSTANDNG ABOVE ANYTHING.
IF IN FACT, YOU DO GIVE HIM HIS SPACE, AND HE CHOOSES TO END THINGS... AT LEAST YOU HAVE DONE ALL YOU CAN.
OH AND DEFINATLY TALK IN PERSON... IT IS SO EASY TO HANG UP, PLUS YOU CAN SEE HIS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS WHEN YOU TALK TO HIM.
