Ouija board can be an interesting experience. Some believe it is a doorway to another world and warn against its use, but most people see it as a harmless diversion, especially if it's not taken too seriously. Here are some guidelines.

It takes two to Ouija. Usually one person is not able to work the Ouija. Get a friend to use it with you. A male and female is usually recommended.
Timing. Most practitioners suggest using the board at night when, they say, less interference is in the atmosphere.
Create some atmosphere. The Ouija is more fun if you darken the room and light some candles. Turn off the TV and any music to minimize distractions.
Have a seat. The two users should sit facing each other, with knees touching if possible, with the board on their laps. Don't use a table.
Decide on a questioner or medium. Even though both people can ask questions -- or anyone else in the room can -- only one of the users should be the medium (the one to formally ask questions of the board).
Place your fingers on the planchette. You and your partner should place the fingers of both hands very lightly on the planchette, or pointer.
Move it. Purposely move the planchette around in a circle on the board for a moment or two to get it 'warmed up.'
Attitude. Don't let the board control the session. The medium should begin by announcing that the session will only allow an experience that is positive or toward a higher good and that negative energies are not welcome.
Begin simply. Start with a simple question, one that requires a yes or no answer.
Be patient. You might not begin to get answers right away. Give the board a chance to 'warm up.'
Be polite. When the board starts working, thank the board or entities for showing up and communicating with you.
Don't ask stupid questions. Avoid questions such as, 'When am I going to die?' If the board answers, 'in 6 months,' you might just worry about it needlessly.
Don't ask for physical signs. Many experienced users warn against asking for physical signs that the 'spirit' is real or present.
Don't believe everything the board tells you. Just as with any other source of information, don't accept whatever the board says to be the truth or accurate.
Close the board. This is an important step. When you're done with your session, slide the planchette to 'GOODBYE' and remove your hands.
Tips:
Have someone write down the answers. Sometimes the letters spell out very quickly and it's difficult to keep track of what's being said. A third person with paper and pen can write down the message as it comes.
Play sober. You'll get better results if you haven't been drinking or smoking.
Maintain control. If the board starts giving rude, vulgar, obscene or otherwise disagreeable responses, break off the session immediately by closing the board.

It is against your religion because it is considered witchcraft or Satanic. However some Christians, like Catholics for example, say it is a sin to believe in supersticious things, like witchcraft. So as long as you don't actually believe in the stuff its just entertainment and OK. Some say if you don't believe in it at all why even play with it, so I guess its all about your attitude.

Its a board with all the letters of the alphebet and a piece with a window that slides over the board. There is no magnet or anything, just wood and glass or plastic pieces. You ask a question and supposedly a dead spirit answers you by sliding the thing to a letter, spelling out words. Everybody has their fingers on the slider. The way it actually works of course is that somebody in the group is sliding the thing, but you want to try and convince people its just happening.

If you're doing this for a slumber party you want to decide how you're going to script it before your guests arrive and practice sliding the thing very gently. It can be fun, some girls are even dumb enough to seriously believe the dead are telling them who they will marry, etc. Interestingly, every dead person knows your best friend will marry the smelly kid from your 3rd grade class.

Sweety a Ouija board is a dangerous tool. It's a doorway like any other doorway between dimensions. It's dangerous because you have no idea who you're inviting in. Might I suggest meditation instead...it's a much better doorway and there are ways of protecting yourself. With a board, there is no protection. Christians usually frown on such things...anything that is supernatural...boards are bad but there is nothing bad about exploring the Super, and the Natural, because they are just that.

I would avoid it like the plague. Things like that call up spirits, and it could be an evil spirit or a demon. It opens the door for demonic possession. Have you ever seen the movie called, "The Exorcist"? It was based on a book that was based on a true account written by a priest in a diary. In the movie, you can see that it begins with a Ouija board, and by the end of the movie the girl is possessed by a demon.

I have heard from more than one different person of an experience where they throw it away in the trash, and it ends up back in the house. All things like that that try to summon up dead spirits are bad.

God has already revealed everything we need to know about our present and our future through Divine Revelation and the Church; anything else He wants to tells us comes to us via prayer and spiritual discernment. In other words, God has already established safe channels for us to pursue when we seek answers to life’s questions. Divination, even if done in ignorance or for fun, is a way of stepping outside God’s plan for us. If this is done deliberately, with full knowledge and consent of the will, then the offender is guilty of grave sin.

Scripture shows us that all forms of divination not only are seriously sinful, but also seriously dangerous. (Scriptural passages that specifically condemn or denigrate divination and related occultic activities include Lev. 19:26, 31; 20:6, 27; 1 Sam. 15:23; 2 Kings 17:17; 21:6; 2 Chron. 33:6; Is. 8:19-20; Jer. 14:14; 27:9-10; 29:8-9; Ezek. 12:24; and Gal. 5:19-21. Cf. Deut. 18:10; Jer. 29:8.)

Many Christians believe that using a Ouija board allows communication with demons, which is Biblically forbidden as a form of divination. Some people who claim to have been oppressed by evil spirits after using a board say that they could only get rid of these problems after Christian deliverance. Many Christians also believe that no dead person's soul can be summoned, and that the only summoned spirits are demons who are trying to harm humans.

Martin Ebon in his book Satan Trap: Dangers of the Occult, states:

"It all may start harmlessly enough, perhaps with a Ouija board. [...] The Ouija will often bring startling information, [...] establishing credibility or identifying itself as someone who is dead. It is common that people who get into this sort of game think of themselves as having been "chosen" for a special task. [...] Quite often the Ouija turns vulgar, abusive or threatening. It grows demanding and hostile, and sitters may find themselves using the board [...] compulsively, as if "possessed" by a spirit, or hearing voices that control or command them."

I have personally talked to several people who experimented with these "toys". None had anything good to say about them. I do strongly believe that they can be a major gateway to literal demonic possession. Anything to do with the occult is dangerous.

We do not need to be concerned about tomorrow. if we trust the one that holds tomorrow. Perfect love casts out all fear. Jesus is that perfect love.

This is the wrong category for a question about a pagan boardgame. A ouija board is useless, just like an "eight ball". It is a form of witchcraft. Why not ask how to win at Candyland while you're at it?

Its a piece on compressed card board that's a window to the spirit world. The moon is made of green cheese. The check is in the mail. Psychics and Santa Claus are real.
