I don't see anything wrong with it, just remember that she is that young, you may have to give up alot to be with someone that much younger. when i was 17 i started dating my now husband of 6 years. he was 27. it just depends on the person!

Since you are 21 years old you should try and finish high school. I can tell by your lack of capitalization of words like "I" and the fact that you don't use punctuation that you should at least get a GED before trying to date a 16 year old.
The something wrong with liking and dating a 16 year old at the age of 21 is called being a pediophile. Wait 24 months or less and it won't be a problem. If you can't wait 24 months then it was never meant to be.

Five years is not a great age difference after the minor is of legal decision making age. Although most teenagers think they are old enough to make wise decisions, there are valid reasons why 18 is the time many cultures set the age of consent there. Teenagers are too caught up in the good opinion of their peers to let them make decisions that could effect the rest of their lives adversely.
I am glad you will not try anything until the teen is 18. She will be a couple of years wiser and you won't have to worry about jail time. If you care for her that much, even though I know it may be difficult at times, you will wait.
There is nothing wrong with the age difference after she reaches 18.

No there is nothing wrong at all unless you do stuff with her before she is of age. In some places the legal age is less then 18. Do some research you might be lucky and then you can slam her.
"leeanndem" is wrong there are many places were 16 is 100% fine by law. A 50 year old could have sex with a 16 year old with no problem in some places.

i was 16 and my husband was 21 when i met him. i was not allowed to date him . he was allowed to come for supper, then we would sit on the porch. when i was 17 i could out with during the day but i had to take my sister with us. i ended up marrying him when i turned 20. we dated for 3 1/2 years. we are still married after 33 years.
i only put how many years we have been married so you didn't think i was 100, since we did things as the kids would say old fashion. but sometimes old fashion works.
so no there is nothing wrong with you. just use common sense.

There's nothing wrong with it - I am 17 and have a 22 year old boyfriend, and we have a lot in common and are very happy together.
I agree that most 16 year olds are pretty immature, but if she has the proper mindset and is mature enough for you, go with it. Who cares?!

sexual issues aside, you'd be in for a rough ride. esp being of drinking age, as i'm sure most of your friends are. you would constantly have to adjust your activities to her curfew--she can't even go in 18+ places.
and actually the legal age is 16 (in most states)--but i wouldn't suggest it, certainly not if she hasn't been with anyone else. ther eis a lot of emotional baggage that would follow. as for being attracted, i guess you really can't help that, it's just a reaction....look how many guys 12-30 who thought britney spears was the greatest thing in the hit me baby one more time video--she was only 16.
my advice is to keep looking, i've dealt with 16 year olds before, and even though i was only a few years older, they get real annoying very fast--they simply aren't at the maturity level a 21 year would be, and naturally so. (in most cases)
dunno if this helped, but good luck!

you sound like a very smart person, look i have like many 16 year olds and continually think there is something wrong with me but there is nothing wrong with liking someone 5 years younger than you, but before you go doing anything you must make sure they feel the same way about you otherwise it can make for a very uncomfortable situation (trust me I know)

In one word yes! What does a 21-year-old have in common with a 16-year-old? What's wrong with people your age?

no my best friend met her boyfriend when she was 16 and he was 24 just so long as you know you need to wait until she is 18 until you do anything major.
