If its not found the second time, then AVG removed it.

A destructive program that masquerades as a benign application. Unlike viruses, Trojan horses do not replicate themselves but they can be just as destructive. One of the most insidious types of Trojan horse is a program that claims to rid your computer of viruses but instead introduces viruses onto your computer.

Ok, download Ad-Aware Personal SE and Spybot Search and Destroy of www.download.com, and download another highly rated anti virus - just to make sure. Trojan Horses is a sort of 'program' that enters your disguised, e.g. a free screensaver download. Once it enters, it starts erasing your files and stuff. You get them when you agree to download popups, or bad sites. You get viruses from visiting sites and downloading things. A 'good' site can be bad simply by the admin changing the coding of it. To make sure you browse safely, I suggest that you download "McAfee Site Advisor", which can be found on www.download.com also. Once installed, there is a bar down the bottom right hand corner which when red tells you that the site is unsafe. Look it up at www.wikipedia.org and it will tell you the features of Site Advisor.

If the scan does not find anything, then theres a good chance you are virus free.

In a nutshell, a trojan virus is designed to give others access to your computer without you knowing it... hence the name.

You can get viruses from just about anywhere while on the internet. Email attachments, dodgy websites, downloaded software, P2P file sharing software, etc etc etc. Just keep your anti-virus on and up to date, and you should be fine.

Trojan Horses are newbie viruses. They are extremely easy to delete. Usually they are a simple .exe file that run themselves as soon as they install themselves. The most dangerous Trojan Horses can completely reformat your computer, but they can be practical jokes too. I remember being infected by a Trojan Horse that flipped my screen randomly. =P

Interesting bit of trivia. In "The Illiad" the Trojan Horse was used to invade Troy. The dreaded Trojan Horse you speak of is so named because unless you infect yourself with it through computer inexperience, you cannot get them.

Check Avg's vault and if you deleted it shutdown restart and update avg immediately. Then run a complete scan of your hard drive while your off the internet. If something comes up AVG should be set up to let u know and then send it to the vault and delete it!

more likely it has been removed. Trojan horse is back door program which runs daemon(service) on your computer that opens up port and accept connections from attacker to control your system.
Mostly to steal personal information...

The Virus can get into your system through Floppy Drive/CD Rom Drive/Internet

The second thing is your PC may be infected with unknown and unresolved virus but about that you can do nothing and its better you continue your work

Bye for now
