For my birthday i did not recieve anything from anyone in my family not even my mom or my boyfriend. I was really expecting him to do something for me this year because he couldn't do anything for me last year because i was out of town..i was excited because he really hyped up the fact that my birthday was coming and how it was supposed to be the best day of my life and we were gonna have so much fun....out of all the people in my life i just knew he was gonna do something special for me because of the fact we been together for a year &a 1/2 & that we have been staying together for the same amount of time...i didn't even get a phone call from my mom..not talking to her either.my boyfriend didnt even get me a card all i got was happy birthday.i am hurt because i set myself up to expect more than what i recieved...he keeps asking me what can he do to make it up but i really dont know what to tell him..i dont feel like i should tell him anything..I need to know what to do about this

I always get something from my family unless I tell them not to get me anything.
If other girls can get gifts from their bf's, so should you!

Get ready for a surprise party...
I did the same with my GF, it was her birthday andwe all acted like we forgot and didn't know about it... I brought her to my house because i said i needed some "homework help" led her down to my pool and out of nowhere 50 of her friends and my friends throw her in a pool with her clothes on and start throwing presents at her and blowing horns and all.... She said it was the worst day of her life untill the surprise party.
be expecting that.

for your bf, how long has he been your bf? is he self consumed?
screw that stuff. how about buying yourself some flowers and hopefully this is the last time this happens to you.
I recall the same thing happening to me once or twice and the second time i bought myself some flowers and boy did that make a differece for me. the next year was different and so was the bf. lol

my husband never got me anything for christmas valentines day, or our 1 year wedding anniversary, nor my birthday... Men are not good at gift giving, & tend to think only of themselves, & need some incouragement to do so sometimes, & i think that you should maybe mention it to him. I did, & my husband finally went out 7 got me a 250.00 camera that i wanted. He felt bad enough & compelled enough after laying the guilt trip on him to buy me what i wanted.....

well.. maybe he ran out of cash, don't trip my bday was oct. 9 and no body in my family remembered either... my bf couldn't buy me anything cuz he lost his job but I know he would have if he had money... i bet your BF would have too.
