You just ask with a sincere heart, dearest. There is no secret, special way to ask God...who by the way, instantly forgives when we ask. Only you know if within you, you truly are repentent. And, of course, nothing is hidden from God.

True forgiveness comes from Christ as a free gift to those who truly desire it. Remember the story of Esau? He searched for forgiveness with tears but could not find it. This story always disturbed me until I realized it had more to do with his motive for forgiveness: he wanted his position of wealth and influence back rather than sorrowing for having sinned against God. Sometimes we must ask God to help us through His Spirit that we may see the true nature of our selfish characters and depend more upon Jesus, our Lord. To put it in one sentence, He alone gives us the desire to seek His forgiveness as we are willing to be molded and shaped in the image of His character.

PS) Don't forget to forgive others as He has forgiven U.

Have you ever stole, told a lie, used God's name in the wrong way, lusted after someone in deed or thought, and disrespected your parents? If you said yes to any of these questions, you should see the need for God's forgiveness. Pray to God(out loud) and confess your sins and, if you are REALLY sorry ask for forgiveness.

True forgiveness comes from forgiving yourself. Ask God if you wish, but forgiveness is already here and now. Just accept that as much as you can every moment and it will be granted

Ideally, one ought to have perfect contrition for one's sins. Basically, this means that one is sorry for what one has done because it has offended God. However, many have imperfect contrition, which is sorrow for sins in fear of eternal damnation. In the former case, the Lord forgives the sins on one's heart. In the latter, however, one should receive the sacrament of pennance to receive forgiveness.

God bless.

how do we ask god for true forgiveness? This is what you wrote.

First of all, do you see anything wrong with the sentence you wrote?
Who is we? What god are you asking? Is there a difference in forgiveness? You say true like there is a false type.

I'm a Christian man who sins everyday. I ask Our Heavenly Father in the name of His Son Jesus Christ to forgive me of my sins daily. A true Christian, ( there are people who call themselves Christian and are not ) finds it hard to commit sins on a daily bases, When a true Christian does sin it affects them so terribly that they can't hardly wait to ask God to forgive them. You see, that when we sin we separate ourselves from God and it hurts deep inside.

I'm going to tell you this and hope you will take it to heart.
God loves you so much that He gave us His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to take your place on that cross at Calvary.

This means, that when you remember the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, think that that could have been you nailed to that cross.

Jesus Christ took your place and gave His life so you could live by accepting that fact and repenting of your sins.

Pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. He won't listen to you if you don't. Tell the Father that you are sorry for all your sins. You don't have to list them, He knows you better than you do. Accept His Son Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord and through His Bood that was shed on that cross ask God to cover you and to forgive you. He will because He loves you so much.

Now you are a new creation in Christ Jesus the Lord. Go and sin no more.><>

If you are not a Christian you need to become one. Your Father in Heaven has led His son to you and He is at the door knocking. Its up to you to open that door and invite Him into your house, yourself.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and love of God, and fellowship of The Holy Spirit be you all.
