or ... how would Christians like it if Atheists actively sought to put Atheist judges on the Supreme Court or in the Whitehouse? how would they feel if it was virtually a requirement that any person seeking to be elected to public office be an Atheist? how would they feel if Atheists came to their door preaching science and logic at them? how would they like if they faced job discrimination for not being an Atheist?

American Christians take a lot for granted just because there's a lot of them but our secular country was set up so that the prejudices of the many didn't override the rights of the individual ... idyllically anyway.

You realize that all religions exist in a world that has no official religion and is therefore lacking religion, or Atheistic.

You already do live in an Atheistic world. Atheists don't want money to deny God's existence, they just don't want it to talk about God because they feel it opens up other things of the State to be infiltrated by the Church. And I agree with them.

What it seem that most atheist want in the United States is freedom from religion, which is fundamentally different from freedom of religion. Freedom from religion would ban any form of religious expression in public places. Politicians would not be allowed to speak of God in Congress. Chaplains would not be allowed to be officers in the military. These are just a few things that would be forbidden if that was what was intended by the establishment clause. On the contrary, the Constitution doesn't say anything about freedom from religion, but allows for religion to be expressed freely, just as atheists is allowed express their views freely. Religion can and should be allowed to be expressed in the public sector, and it can be done without establishing an official state religion. To date, the United States has not endorsed any particular religious sect.

However, if atheists want to call putting "In God We Trust" on money or "Under God" the Pledge of Allegiance establishing a religion, then they are in essence saying that theism is a religion. If theism can be considered a religion, then so can its polar opposite, atheism. Theism is a categorization of religions that believe in a god or gods, not a particular religion or sect.

If atheists want to make an atheist TV channel, they are welcome to do so. If they want to make an atheist newspaper, then they have that freedom.

hey, while I'm an aussie, I think this is the best i've seen here for quite awhile. Great video. thanks.

When any one tells me, that he saw a dead man restored to life, I immediately
consider with myself, whether it be more probable, that this person should either
deceive or be deceived, or that the fact, which he relates, should really have
happened. I weigh the one miracle against the other; and according to the
superiority, which I discover, I pronounce my decision, and always reject the
greater miracle.

i don't think i would care. i would still use my money. i wouldn't have to read the newspaper column. i wouldn't have to watch that tv channel. it's a free world, so as far as i am concerned, you can legally do all of those things.

We do live in a largely Atheist world where faith is the exception and not the rule. Respect is impossible when one side condescendingly thinks of the other as quaint (or down-right delusional) and the other can't understand why the purpose of it all isn't obvious.

In the 50's and early 60's then you would of have something to complain about. You are silly because we as Christians are living in a world full of sinners. TV is nothing but smut and sexual perversion and even cartoons with one so called godly channel. Common sense would tell you need the money for resources regardless what's written on it. JESUS, PLEASE COME HERE SOON!

Ask the Christians who used to live in the atheist Soviet Union (and were beaten, imprisoned and murdered by the state for their faith), or the Christians or the Falun Gong (Dafa) who still ARE being beaten, imprisoned and murdered by the atheist state for their faith.

Oh, I'm sorry, you are tramatized by having the word "God" on a coin. How terrible. I have met a woman who has had her teeth knocked out by the Chinese police because she ran an unlicensed church in her home. But her trama is nothing compared to yours, sitting in a warm house with your beer and complaining ...
