I've seen a lot of ads regarding these Natural Light Full Spectrum Lamps. They run somewhere between $60 - a few HUNDRED dollars. Have you used them? Are they worth the money? I was specifically looking at the BLUEMAX Floor Lamps. Any relevant opinions would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

look at the ones from first street and you be the judge.....do a google search and look at the feedback from other sources......the simulate daylight and work great for people like me who suffer with depression and seasonal affective disorder.......which is brought on by lack of sunlight and fewer daylight hours.....

I have shot portraits with 1 40W light bulb. You can use any light source you want. Adjust the white balance to get the general look (warmth or cool hues) you want. If your light sources are weak (low power) then controling the ambient light will be a bit more important, butyou would be amazed what you can do with very limited lighting... Heck I have shot a model in a dark room (bathroom in a bubble bath) with only 4 candles burning and a slight bit of light coming through the bathroom door. Have fun exploring light.

The reason why you pay so much is because it is used as therapy for Seasonal Affective Disorder. So it is a good investment.
